In terms of network yes. The server itself is the same, but it’s been reloaded to debian 9 and 1.5.4 as opposed to ubuntu and 1.5.2.

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@george1421 Ok, does it make a difference if we do unicast? Just wondering

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@quazz Ok will do. I’ll end up testing this today as well. We’re using a server that has a lot of unused resources so we can devote a good bit to it. I also want to say that we are on the current dev-branch, so 1.5.4. These were all fresh builds as well, even on ubuntu. Does it automatically set the max children to 5 now?

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@quazz Ok I found it! Now, what do you think the max i should put there is. Sometimes we might image up to two, maybe three labs at a time. would 90 be a stretch?
-
RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@quazz Yes. Single client works fine. I don’t know the specific number in which it starts to fail; but in a lab we image anywhere from 20 - 35ish computers and it seems to fail whenever we try those numbers. The issue also persisted when we started with ubuntu.

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@george1421 I adjusted the file to match what you put in this post https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/11797/updated-from-fog-v1-50-to-v1-52-issue/25
Will test soon. Any other ideas?

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
Welpppp, I suppose not. We were running this server on a hyper v and decided to just try out to separate options. We had a new computer we were going to try and load it on, as well as setting up a new hyper v with debian instead. Both fresh installs had the same error when we tried to test either of them. I went ahead and checked the file the George mentioned prior ( On the Hyper V server) and this is the outcome.

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
Due to hardware changes and accompanying issues (and time restraints) we are just reloading our fog server on a different machine. Sorry for the delay, summer is our busiest time and of course when we run into the most issues :,D Thank you though!

RE: wiping a drive
@fredlwal You could go under the host you’re working with, then to basic tasks, then click advanced. That gives you a drop down menu where you should see fast or full/normal wipe towards the bottom.

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
Welp i goofed. I’m going to have to get that website file again for you because apparently i forgot to reinstall 1.5.2 before getting the file. If there are any differences between the two i will let you know. As far as your most recent question yes, we can ping from that subnet( The clients also do still connect, see second picture). There was not a second / in the storage node but there was under TFTP PXE KERNEL DIR

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@george1421 Yeah we have 6 different buildings with different ip ranges. This building is the high school, with a 10.10 ip range. The 10.100 range is also at the high school, but its in our server room. We have this all setup to work as weve been using fog for a few years now. We do have routing setup between subnets but not screening routers.

@george1421 This is what that file looks like post upgrade

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@george1421 If you’d like me to try it though I can do that

RE: Issues with Fog 1.5.2
@george1421 Similar, but not quite the same. I did stumble upon that post but didn’t know if that fix was right for me. Before i did the fix from here:https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/10006/ubuntu-is-fog-s-enemy
I could not access the web interface at all. Even if i put /fog at the end. It was a blank page with “cannot connect to database.” Ran the fix and all was well or so it seemed. The client machines can, and do still connect to the fog server, and i can access the gui. It’s just that when im unicasting to the machines it’s like fog freezes. I say fog specifically because the computer is still running fine. This doesn’t happen with 1.5.0 though. -
Issues with Fog 1.5.2
OS: Ubuntu 16.04
Fog Version: 1.5.2/ 1.5.0Recently, within the past month or so, we rebuilt our fog machine on a Hyper V server. We started mostly from scratch aside from CSV’s for the groups. We originally installed 1.5.0 and then updated when 1.5.2 came out. It all seemed to work well until last week. The first sign of trouble was when we tried to go to the web gui, It came up with an error along the lines of “Could not connect to database”. I figured this was caused from the issue stemming from Ubuntu. I ran the fix shown on the fog forums, and the gui came back up. The day after that we decided to re image a lab that was having some issues. It was the first time we’d tried a large deployment with the new server. We created the image fine, but when unicasting it to thirty computers 10, 5, and 2 at a time (we tried all of those to see if somehow it was just getting bogged down) the web gui would freeze and crash. The ones prompted to start would start, but the ones in queue would fall out of queue and show the error in the pictures below. We did a bit of experimenting but couldn’t figure it out. We had to get the lab up and running quick though so we went back to a checkpoint before we updated to Fog 1.5.2 and it seemed to work without issue. It is still working on 1.5.0, but I’m wondering why it bogged out when running 1.5.2? I can create another fog server on the hyper v and install 1.5.2 for testing if need be.

RE: UEFI-PXE-Boot (Asus t100 Tablet)
Also as a side not, the only Ethernet to usb adapters that worked were usb 2.0 10/100. Specifically the “Cable Matters USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet Network Adapter” and the “ASUS Network Adapter for Transformer Pad” (model number: 90-XB3900CA00040-). I tried three others that were usb 3.0, gig adapters and they did not work for whatever reason.

RE: UEFI-PXE-Boot (Asus t100 Tablet)
@george1421 This worked! Thanks a bunch, this is going to cut down maintenance time on these tablets immensely. Also thanks to everyone who took the time to look into this!
The solution was to boot directly to the FOS engine using this guide:
https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/7727/building-usb-booting-fos-image/8It did still take a usb hub, correct Ethernet adapters, and a flash drive but that is perfectly fine.
