FOG now has everything it needs to setup your server, but please
understand that this script will overwrite any setting you may
have setup for services like DHCP, apache, pxe, tftp, and NFS.

It is not recommended that you install this on a production system
as this script modifies many of your system settings.

This script should be run by the root user on Redhat or with sudo on Ubuntu.

** Notice ** Redhat users will need to disable SELinux and iptables in
order to use FOG
Please see our wiki for more information at http://www.fogproject.org/wiki

Here are the settings FOG will use:
Base Linux: Debian
Detected Linux Distribution: Ubuntu
Installation Type: Normal Server
Server IP Address: 10.200.10.150
DHCP router Address:
DHCP DNS Address: 10.200.10.33
Interface: bond0
Using FOG DHCP: 0
Internationalization: 1
Image Storage Location: /images
Donate: 0

DHCP will NOT be setup but you must setup your
current DHCP server to use FOG for PXE services.

On a Linux DHCP server you must set:
next-server

On a Windows DHCP server you must set:
option 066 & 067

Option 066 is the IP of the FOG Server: (e.g. 10.200.10.150)
Option 067 is the undionly.kpxe file: (e.g. undionly.kpxe)

• Climbing Server Load

since updating to 2929 my server load has been steadily climbing throughout the day. I upgraded early yesterday and by this morning the system was unresponsive to tftp and web access and console access was slow. I rebooted and was back to normal but at this point after 6.5 hours up time server load average is 32 to 33 and pages are slow to respond in the web interface.

• Deployment User

I remember in the lead up to the 1.1.0 release their was discussion of a more granular user rights setup and was wondering if this was any closer to becoming a reality. My main concern is almost every interface page has a delete all button now and it has me on edge just waiting for one of my lower level users to send me an email titled “Sorry I Deleted all the clients!” or something similar. Really the most common restriction I can think off would be a user limited to registering hosts, adding snapins, and deploying images. This would keep the more inept users out of uploading and deleting anything. Even mobile only access would work if they could add snapins to a host.

• Fog active tasks will not display

SVN version 2912 upgraded from .32 running on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
We have been running OK for a week at this version and today suddenly i am unable to access active tasks. The web browser just fails to load anything and the home page shows 5 active and 6 que’d tasks but the actual listing of active tasks is unresponsive. Any suggestions I found some older directions to remove all active tasks at http://www.thelazysysadmin.net/2011/01/fog-deleting-all-current-active-tasks/ but I was leery of messing directly with the database with so many revisions taking place.

We are also looking for the database that currently has about 9800 entries of computers that were registered with fog before it crashed. Also we are trying to find the sql table that might have the users that have been created with their respective password.

• Restore from backup

We recently lost our entire fog server. We used this as an opportunity to go from ubuntu 10 lts to 12.04 lts. Our main issue is we have a full backup of the file system but after reinstalling the os and fog .32 from scratch and restoring.
/opt/fog
/var/www/fog
/tftpboot
We are not back to normal I believe we are missing the actual sql database and since we have a copy of the file system and not a dump as created by mysqldump where is the file or files physically located and do i need to do anything special when I restore them from our backup.
