I have reinstalled FOG, but to no avail. And this started yesterday, so I think it might be somewhere in FOG or Ubuntu

Would it be best to install Debian instead? I don’t want to, but I’ve heard Ubuntu 14 is kind of rubbish.

Unable to register host for the following reasons
Sorry to be so bothersome
FOG 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 with latest kernels
I am trying to image my first department, and the computer I am using will not image. The boot menu loads fine, but then I get the following message:
esas2r: driver will not be loaded because no ATTO esas2r devices were found
i2c-parport-light: adapter type unspecified
DHCP/BOOTP: Reply not for us
Then after some time, it skips all the FOG info and says
“Unable to register host for the following reasons”
And lists off all the specs of the computer. I have installed the new kernels from the FOG management page, but that didn’t help. Please help!

RE: Nothing is working...
I think I have found the issue. I work at a bank where we have a separate building for out IT stuff. Well, our IT building is on a different switch than the bank is. Things seem to boot fine in the bank, but not in the IT building, where the FOG server is. I think I am going to move the FOG server around that switch and get it off of this switch.

I’m not sure what I did.
I’m just a lowly intern, please forgive me.
Or you could try Debian if you feel attached to a Ubuntu like ecosystem. Ubuntu’s core is Debian, and the freshest latest release of Debian works flawlessly with Fog.
Is there a working install I could use from a flash drive? Ubuntu didn’t seem to like the flash drive.
Scratch that, sorry.

And honestly I would suggest using about any other Linux distro other than Ubuntu 14.04.
I tried putting 10.04 on, but the PC didn’t like that for some reason. I might try the x86 install

RE: Nothing is working...
I have done that twice, but I’m not opposed to doing it again if you think that will solve it.

RE: Nothing is working...
The PXE-E51 and M0F errors both, the Vostros now looks just like the 9010s.
Are you able to login to the FOG GUI?
Yes I am. The GUI loads perfectly, but I am not able to PXE what-so-ever.
How is it “Nothing is working” when right in your first statement you say it IS working?
Well that’s now the case. I ran full registration on the Vostros, they stalled, I restarted them, now they return the same error as the 9010s.

RE: Nothing is working...
Nothing specifically referencing boot.php. Here’s my log if you want to have a look: pastebin.com/BAUs2mub
Edit: log from today.

What happens if you go to the link:
http://172.16.0.35/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php?mac=18:03:73:46:44:93 (where the XX’s represent the MAC of the system you’re seeing issues:
When I go to that link I get a blank white screen.

RE: Nothing is working...
I just updated the 9010 to A09 from A08 in hopes that a newer version would have something useful. UEFI is disabled on all three. The purpose is to get this server to function. That address comes up on the error screen.

Nothing is working...
So I’m running 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a Dell Optiplex 755 (physical server). In my network, there are three different Dell models I have attempted a PXE boot into.
1 Dell Vostros
2 Dell Optiplex 9010
3 Dell Optiplex 990Now, I have a unique situation here. First, 1 boots perfectly, absolutely no flaws. That’s all good and well, however, 2 and 3 don’t function. 2 will hang for a while and give me an error “PXE-E51 No DHCP or DHCP Proxy Offers received” I don’t know why it would not receive an IP from the DHCp server, when #1 does. 3 Goes for a while, then stops and says “Could not boot: Input/ouput error (http://ipxe.org/1d0c6139)”
Please help! I’ve been at this all week and I haven’t even uploaded my first image! -
RE: Host won't boot in PXE
Ok, well I got some computers to boot in to FOG, but not others. Any suggestions?
