RE: Ubuntu 11.10 no longer supportedposted in Linux Problems
It is a physical box and I am running the GUI. What do you mean by using the sleep command and restarting the tftp server?
I am not that familiar with linux to run a Server release.

RE: Ubuntu 11.10 no longer supportedposted in Linux Problems
I am thinking about upgrading Ubuntu. The Wiki explains upgrading Fog. I am confused.
If everything works properly now why would I need to update at all?

I have FOG installed on ubuntu 11.10 which is no longer supported by linux. No security updates, etc.
Can I upgrade my ubuntu version without breaking FOG? Which distribution would you suggest?

RE: Snapins no longer workingposted in FOG Problems
Most of my snap-ins were made with InstallRite and are uploaded to FOG as executables. I have two servers which are identical and setting are similar except for the IPs. Snap-ins work in one but not the other…

RE: Snapins no longer workingposted in FOG Problems
Flushing the dns had no effect on it. I still get the snapin file shows zero size and can not be downloaded

RE: Snapins no longer workingposted in FOG Problems
I am not having any issues with the hostname change or adding it to the domain. The only problem is with snapins pushing out. Fog will indicate that it is in progress but nothing happens on the client end. See attachment for Fog log.

Snapins no longer workingposted in FOG Problems
Snapins used to work on our fog server until we moved it to a new vlan. Now they don’t work at all. The IP’s were changed where needed but it does not seem to help.

RE: New storage nodeposted in FOG Problems
- Store your images on a seperate NFS server that has more space than your fog server.
- Store individual images on seperate disks/NFS servers, and mount them into the /images/[imagename]
I think this what I am asking, I just don’t know how to get there. How do you create a separate NFS server?

RE: No end magicposted in FOG Problems
It looks like the InstallRite website is completely shut down. My problem with SFX is creating answer files to make the deployment unattended. I just wish it was user friendly.

New storage nodeposted in FOG Problems
My default storage (500GB) is rapidly filling up and I would like to add another drive for additional storage. How difficult is that and could someone give me advice on how to accomplish that?

RE: No end magicposted in FOG Problems
Their server went down at one time and the forum was never rebuilt. That was the message I got the last time I tried to access it.

RE: No end magicposted in FOG Problems
Yes, I have tried and they do not have one. They have not rebuilt the one they had originally.

No end magicposted in FOG Problems
I am using software call InstallRite to create snapins. I am getting an error message now at the end of making an Install Kit that says; Whoops, no ENDMAGIC found.
This totally messes up the install kit and leaves it unusable.

Renew imagesposted in FOG Problems
I have several images created and saved. This summer I want to update the images with the latest windows updates, etc. Can I just upload the updated image to fog and overwrite the existing one or will they have to be uploaded as a new image and the older one deleted?

RE: Slow computersposted in FOG Problems
Seems like the Google Toolbar is causing issues with Internet Explorer. Disabling the toolbar has improved things.
