    • Invalid OS ID (0) (determineOS) Args passed:0

      Hi,

Today I tried to install our computers using a unicast group deploy (Windows 10).
When the imaging process starts I’m getting the following error:
Invalid OS ID (0) (determineOS) Args passed:0
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/p1u6fvyaqqi2iat/IMG_20200827_122259.jpg?dl=0

When I start the image process manually using the pxe boot menu of when I manually trigger every computer individually in the webinterface everything works fine.

      I’m using: 1.5.9-RC2.11 and bzImage Version: 4.19.123, bzImage32 Version: 4.19.123.

I tried this on 5 different computers (HP and Dell and came out with the same result).

How can I fix this issue?

      Kind regards,
      Johan

      @george1421 Hi,
I have 2 Dell PXE dongles:

      • 470-ABND USB-C
      • 492-11726 USB-A
So no convertor is between the dongles, both gave the same error.

    • Dell Precision 5530 PXE Boot problem (Maybe the USB cable is bad)

      Hello,

I’m trying to install my image on a new Precision 5530. My USB dongles worked fine on previous models like (Latitude 7390, Precision 5520) but now I’m getting the error “Maybe the USB cable is bad”.

I tried with the latest 64 bit kernel image
      and with the usbcore.old_scheme_first=1 attribute.

      How can I fix this?
      I’m using fog 1.5.2 and Kernel 4.19.1 (32 and 64 bit).

      Kind regards!

      • OS: Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
      Description

When I create a Full Inventory Export to .csv the memory size is missing.
When I look into the client info I see that the size information is available.

Hi, I noticed a similar problem. I can’t delete computers from the group management tab.

When I try to click on the remove button nothing is happening.

    • RE: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error?

      Hi,

I had this problem too but Tom solved this in Running version 24 of svn 6063.
If you want to wait to update, go to Fog Config --> FOG System Settings --> Fog Client - Host Register --> Set FOG_QUICKREG_MAX_PENDING_MAC to 8 or to be sure 15.

      Kind regards,
      Johan

    • RE: FOG 1.3.4 RC 1 Released

      Hi Tom,

First I had version 1.3.3 installed and had the error:

26/01/2017 12:25 Middleware::Response Error multiple hosts returned for list of mac addresses

      After the update to
      Thu Jan 26, 2017 13:22 pm
      Running Version 22
      SVN Revision: 6063

I still had the following issue:

      26/01/2017 14:05 Middleware::Communication URL: http://CA-FOG/fog/management/index.php?sub=requestClientInfo&mac=34:E6:D7:1F:47:3E|48:51:B7:5D:83:42|48:51:B7:5D:83:43|00:09:0F:FE:00:01|48:51:B7:5D:83:46||00:00:00:00:00:00:00:E0|80:93:87:50:50:47&newService&json
26/01/2017 14:05 Middleware::Communication ERROR: Could not contact FOG server
26/01/2017 14:05 Middleware::Communication ERROR: De externe server heeft een fout geretourneerd: (500) Interne serverfout.
      26/01/2017 14:05 Middleware::Response Success

When I disabled the Mobile Broadband card (80:93:87:50:50:47) the client (Latitude E7440) stopped giving the error and renamed and joined the computer.

      Kind regards,
      Johan

    • RE: Dell 7040 NVMe SSD Boot Issue

      Hi,

I just got a call from a colleague that we had the same problem today. I updated last Thursday to the latest svn 6061, before we used an svn from the beginning of 2016 with a kernel of December 2016.
Before the Optiplex 7040 worked great without any changes to RAID or AHCI.

The change to AHCI works for us, it still gives some errors but it continues.

      Kind regards,
      Johan

    • RE: Create a Driver Database based on hardware id

If you want I can deliver my database containing most of the Dell computers from the last 6 years until today. 64 bit drivers.

I added some extra code to the auto install driver script because some drivers are not detected. For example touchpad drivers, audio drivers, …

After the auto install script I also add the latest DisplayLink, Flash, I add Ninite so the clients have the latest freeware, I add Mcafee client, I change Firewall settings, I add the option so Windows will update office drivers, force the start of the Fog client after a reboot, Auto install Lanschool on the channel of the computers classroom, …

      Kind regards,

    • Update Kernel fog 1.2.0 to SVN kernel

      Hi,

I’m running Fog 1.2.0 in my live environment and fog SVN in my testlab.
With the new Dell Latitudes E5570, E7270 and E7470 that arrived a few days ago I’m having problems to deploy them with Fog 1.2.0.
With Fog SVN it works fine.

I tried to copy the bzimage, bzimage32, init.xz and init_32.xz from my FOG SVN server to the fog 1.2.0 server.
When I do that I’m getting different errors when trying to image or register the new notebooks and older systems that worked before.

When I try to register a notebook:
“Unable to register host: Invalid Mac Address!”

When i try to deploy a system:
      “No partition type passed (performRestore)”

I’m having 6 storage nodes in 6 different locations so I would like to wait for a stable fog SVN before I upgrade to SVN on all locations.

      Any Ideas?

      Kind regards,
      Johan

@Tom-Elliott : No the installation of Mysql did not prompt me this message:
      https://www.linode.com/docs/assets/1494-debian-7-mysql-root-password.png

So there was no password set in the sql installation.

@Tom-Elliott During the SQL server installation process you normally get a purple screen where you get the opportunity to enter a password and confirm that. That’s what I’m not getting and the reason why i entered Y.
