@Tom-Elliott OK something to notate. So I did confirm with my coworkers that they are indeed imaging but on the tasks page they do not show up as actually imaging. This would explain why I noticed HD I/O spiking as well as the outbound on the NIC lol but strangely they are using a separate account I created in the FOG web UI. Maybe any other account than FOG doesn’t display the activity and hosts that have been registered under that account. I found this to be weird because it was working before and we have a project imaging 100 computers but we have probably only imaged about 25 and this is when it started happening. Hopefully this makes sense.

RE: 1.6 Issues/Reporting
@Tom-Elliott So far everything that we have thrown at 1.6 as far as functionality wise is going well so far. I have noticed that at times the disk activity becomes abnormally active and causes the CPU % to get at 100. I had set CPU cores to 2 so i gave it two more and now up to 4. Granted I haven’t ran a git pull since I first installed it but running that now. I don’t have any storage nodes defined yet and I know there is no active tasks when this is occurring. Any thoughts what would cause this? I rebooted server and as soon as it comes back 100% again on CPU and disk i/o active. FYI this VM is also on a Hyper-V host that also has a production fog server that is working fine. I don’t think it’s a HD but could be related to my VHD. Thanks.

RE: 1.6 Issues/Reporting
@junkhacker Interesting because I created a Windows 10 image 1803 build and uploaded fine. Registered hosts which are Dell 9020’s and have imaged fine so far. I have not ventured into getting storage nodes and what not setup yet since we are in the middle of projects but i plan on setting up some dummy nodes and observing the replication logs. I assume they will be fine. So far the only thing I notice are little cosmetic items like words and scaling in the web UI are not as important as functionality. So far I’m very impressed. Thank you @Tom-Elliott for working on this.

RE: Slack Plugin issue
@tom-elliott That’s the thing, on the plug-in, it only has a field for access token and user/channel. So when using the format of @someuser/#somechannel under one field, the plugin returns an error stating that it’s invalid. Are you saying there should be two parts to linking a new account?
Also xoxb is the token assigned by Slack now and I just noticed that you stated xoxp. Could that make a difference?

RE: Slack Plugin issue
@Tom-Elliott when trying to enter user/channel format, the plug in states invalid user/channel passed. So if my user is called fogbot and channel is fogimaging, wouldn’t the format be @fogbot/#fogimaging or are there spaces in between? I even reset API token and generated a new one just in case that could have been it.

RE: Replication problems 1.5.4 - always copying
I got a undefined variable error in replication log at the bottom. As you can see, replication is working but still states that d1p2.img file doesn’t match. Also, the file for the storage node with the error was perfectly fine on an earlier check. I didn’t update any images today.

RE: Replication problems 1.5.4 - always copying
@jflippen I to updated and noticed it is no longer in a replication loop. Interesting as I observed the replication log go through all my storage nodes is that first storage node has same file that does not match and one other storage node. So i’m waiting for next round of replication to occur and continue to observe. Update seem to fix the processes that @Tom-Elliott was talking about earlier and seems to check other storage nodes as replication goes down the line of storage nodes.

RE: Replication problems 1.5.4 - always copying
@tom-elliott No worries, I was just throwing some observations out there. My thought process was that since we are dealing with replication and storage groups with various master servers maybe somewhere down the line permissions could be not properly set since if the replication service doesn’t see the file consistency. As I am as lost as any other person with this issue, lol, i’m hoping that maybe some observation input could at least steer you in some direction to troubleshoot.
I just uploaded an image to a location that has a storage group defined and has two storage nodes within that group. So tailing the replication log it eventually shows that files need to replicate. Replication occurs but the log just sits there as if replication occurred to all the nodes. Eventually once replication service restarts from the sleeptime settings in FOG, replication starts fresh and eventually goes back to a loop to same files and same storage node. Hope that helps.

RE: Replication problems 1.5.4 - always copying
@ablohowiak Do you think this could be a permissions issue? I think someone mentioned that in a different post but here is my observation from original upload of an image to uploading an updated version of the original image:
permissions of folder on original image - 777 with user:group - fog:fog
permissions of folder after uploading updated image - 755 with user:group - fog:root
I’m currently manually setting permissions back to original settings as if it was a fresh upload then going to upload an updated version and re-check the permissions and see if changes occurred. What i’m hoping for: if changing the permissions of image folders to their original state, then I hope a replication loop doesn’t occur. If it does not, then i will go ahead and upload and continue to observe.

RE: Replication problems 1.5.4 - always copying
https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/11381/image-not-syncing-between-nodes
I’ve been going through this thread and seems very identical to what we are experiencing. I think the only difference is that person only had one node as to maybe @ablohowiak and I having multiple storage nodes with various storage groups. rsync worked like a champ so rsync’ing the master nodes and replication to storage groups works fine also.

RE: FOG 1.6 Testing Needed - Help would be greatly appreciated as needed
@tom-elliott Sweet. Got it working and looks very fresh and feels snappy. I found a couple cosmetic items already but I wanted to ask where would be the best place to inform you of observations or bugs we find? In this thread or private messages? Thanks.

RE: Replication problems 1.5.4 - always copying
@ablohowiak did the working branch end up helping with the replication? I’m currently having the same issue where image replication loop is occurring on the first storage node. My observation is that it only occurs after the initial upload meaning if you decide to update an existing image that has only been uploaded once “Original upload” and then upload the updated image, replication loops only on that image on the first storage node. Updating to working branch seemed like it worked but then eventually loops again. So i’m not sure if it’s completely resolved. I also have storage nodes and not a NAS system.

RE: FOG 1.6 Testing Needed - Help would be greatly appreciated as needed
Hello @Tom-Elliott Would working-1.6 still support storage nodes with the location plug-ins as well as the LDAP plug-in? I would be more than happy to install and provide input to these features since I have the ability to switch back and forth from production FOG Servers in case “testing servers” act up and what not. Thank you.

RE: FOG Storage Node FTP error in Image Replicator log - files do not match
@vince-villarreal I have same issue and I have been going through all threads regarding this particular issue. I have exactly the same issue and I feel it’s definitely going through a replication loop. I’ve been monitoring the replication log for past couple days and seems like the replication is stuck on one storage node. Keeps deleting the d1p2.img file and begins synching only to come back to the same file and replicate to same node again.
I should also mention I have reinstalled fog from scratch configured all nodes so initial replication of an uploaded image worked fine. It was indeed after an updated image upload when replication loop began.

RE: Bandwidth Graph Stuck
My summer projects started and I was planning to update our FOG system. Re-install and deleting old FOG database worked. Plus our database got a little sloppy so a purge is always good IMO.

RE: Bandwidth Graph Stuck
I had the same problem. Couple others have as well. Haven’t seen a resolution for it. I have tried installing from scratch 1.5.4 and the graph works fine on a separate test machine. Today I’m going export my images and clients to start from a clean install on primary FOG server. Delete old FOG database and create new one. I’m also on Ubuntu Server 16.04.

RE: Erasing current MBR/GPT tables.... taking about 5-10 minutes
Looks like formatting is much faster now using kernel 4.17.0 vs previous kernel. Thank you @Tom-Elliott I hope others have same experience. I must also add that I’m on Ubuntu Server 16.04 and FOG 1.5.4
