I know this thread is quite old, but I wanted to include another possible cause because Google searches seem to bring you back to this thread.

I was experiencing the same issue with my Windows 7 Fog clients, and resetting the encryption data did nothing. It turned out to be the time was quite off on the client, so it was never able to authenticate with the Fog server. Once the time was corrected, the client connected and everything worked fine (hostname, join, etc.).

Just in case someone else runs into this issue, hopefully this can save you some time.

Great! I’m glad you were able to address it. I’ll be sure up to update to the latest release so I don’t have to worry about that extra step!

Has anyone noticed that Fog Trunk is no longer deleting these two files during the image capture process? I’ve been having to manually delete the files before saving out. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere where I have to re-able this option?

How you guys handle situations when Option 66 on your Windows DHCP scope is already being used by something else? For example, we have Option 66 configured for our IP phones to hand out the configuration files. If I change option 66 to the Fog Server’s IP, then the phones will no longer get handed the files they need.

Fair enough. I’m off to re-upload a new image, then.

I’m curious if there is a way to mount a saved image file (sys.img.000) within Linux or even Windows, and add some files to that and re-save it.

What I’m trying to accomplish is adding some drivers for a new model in the C:\Windows\System32\INF folder so that the current image will work with the new machines.
