Madeyem:
That worked like a charm! Excellent find! I followed the instructions as posted and it worked. It’s uploading the image as I type. I just don’t understand how I can create an image on a HP Elitebook 8470/8570p and it uploads without issues. I do the same on the HP Pro 4300 and it gives me that error. Both machines were prepped the same way and started fresh from the Windows 7 Setup disc. Too weird. Glad to have it working now though. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
I hope it works for you. The Pro 4000 I have was formatted and partitioned using the Windows setup disc.
I’ll give that a try. Thanks. I’ve always created my images the same way which was from scratch off the Windows 7 disk. It’s during the start up when it gets partitioned and formatted, and that’s done by the Windows setup. I’ll give that a shot and let you know. Thanks again.
Firstly, I apologize in advance if I’ve asked this already. I don’t think I have, and I searched and couldn’t find any old posts. However, if I did, I apologize in advance for re-posting.
Now, onto the issue. I’m currently running Ubuntu 12.0.4 LT and fog 0.32. Everything used to work fine, but for some reason, and I think it might be a HP issue, but when I upload an image I’ve created off of a HP Pro 4300 desktop, the registration is fine, but when it goes to upload, it will halt and say no partitions were found. Then it reboots. The odd thing is that these models worked fine about 3 months ago. My vendor did state that new model SKUs came out and they were newer, but had the same insides. I’m leaning toward a HP issue, but I wasn’t sure if anyone else had this issue. Anyone?
I too am having issues with HP desktop machines. At my job we are using HP Pro 4300, which are about to go end of life. I’ve uploaded images before on these models, however, my vendor told me they changed their SKU and it’s a newer ‘version’. Ever since then, I can’t upload an image. I can register it in Fog, but when I try to push the image up to the server I get the error that there are no partitions found. Then it reboots. We’re about to update our stock with the HP ProDesk 600 models too.
Very odd issue.
Using 0.32
It ‘spaces’ out when trying to send to inventory when performing a full inventory.
'Spaces Out" meaning that it will not continue and will just produce blank lines so the test scroll slowly on the screen.
Ran the compatibility and I get a Network fail/Disk pass
I’m guessing there is a network BIOS setting I’m missing…
Any suggestions?
What does the BSOD say?
It flashes too quick for me to read what it says.
Interesting issue.
I have uploaded imaged of Dell models, mostly the e series and optiplex series without problem. I’ve run across an issue that I can’t seem to shake off and it’s bugging me something fierce.
I have a Dell D630 laptop that I’ve bumped the RAM to 4GB and installed Windows 7. This is mostly going to be used as a loaner type of laptop and not for everyday use.
I’ve finished the image, and sysprep’d it. I upload it using the normal method that I normally would use.
The two other laptops (same model, same specs) can download the image from FOG, but when I boot, I get a BSOD when it starts to load Windows.
I’ve never had this problem with any other model PC. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
I’m not sure what partitions are present in your setup, but you might try changing the image type to Multiple Partitions - Single Disk.
Not sure what happened, but it blew out the partition on the terminal. Rebuild time. Oh well. Thanks for the tip and I will try that next time it’s ready to be pushed up.
