Thanks Wayne, I have already reset the encryption on a group of hosts, although I cant see the option to reset encryption on the individual hosts menu.

Hi, I have recently upgraded my Fog server to 1.5.0-RC-10 (SVN 6080), but I am getting the error on clients machines:
Middleware::Response ERROR: unable to get subsection
Middleware::Response ERROR: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Any idea? Do i need to update it again?

Hi, Thanks for the suggestions. I imported the list of computers as csv, renamed the host names and imported back to the relevant group. This restarted the PCs and renamed them. Run a script to unjoin from the domain, restarted and fog hostname service re-joined the PCs back to the AD. I believe there will be other ways to do this as well (maybe in less steps) but this one worked for me.

Hi,
Recently our head office decided to change the PC naming convention and they have asked us to rename all our lab computers (around 500 computers in different groups). Can you please advise me whats the best way to accomplish this without spending a lot of time. We also need to rename these in AD. I have researched few scripts but is there anything you would advise which we can do to do this change smoothly?

@Sebastian-Roth …I think something is missing in my configuration…Good thing is we are getting a server soon so that will take care of DHCP…I will update the outcome here asap…many thanks…You guys are great…I have Fog setup (which I manage in out department at a university) and it works there like a charm without an issue…I dont know why its not working here…But I will figure it out…(with your assistance…)

@george1421 Thanks. Yes I conform fog server, router and pxe client are on the same subnet…(192.168.1.0/24). I ran the tcpdump command as you posted…but nothing happens…see the out put when I run this command:

[sudo] password for fog:
fog@fog:~$ ifconfig

Does router’s IP address need to be put somewhere?

Hi, I need your help to complete the fog setup in a small school. I have installed Fog on Ubuntu. There are around 100 PCs in this school but at the moment they are not using any server. They have a normal Netgear router provided by ISP and all PCs get IP from this router. When I boot up the PCs after Fog installation, they dont get the IP or boot from fog and gives “No boot file received” message. As I cant use the option 66/67 so I searched on the forum and tried to install dnsmasq and change the settings…BUT tbh I am not sure what needs to be put in “sudo nano /etc/dnsmasq.conf”…and how should I get this work. (The router IP is 192.168.1.254 and the IP range is from 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.253). Can you please assist?
