How long since the installation of your FOG server did this issue arise?
What model routers are you using?
If any are there any switches between you?
Did you name each of the hosts on your network a different name?
Are all the computers off when you push out the Multi-Cast reqeust?
Have you tried adding all the hosts you want to multicast into a single group and then running a single multicast action?
Have you looked at your multicast max terminals per multicast?
If you ping from a host computer to the fog server does it say the following … “Host Unreachable Request from <host ip>”

RE: Volume not found error? Where do I even look to fix this?
Fixed it! By changing the passwords in the DB to get it up and running - the storage nodes weren’t lined up properly when I restarted and dropped the table I forgot to change the passwords back ARG!

RE: Volume not found error? Where do I even look to fix this?
I nuked the user when uninstalling is there anything that would of stuck when I reinstalled and it’s looking for a user that simply doesn’t exist on the PXE FOG Server and thus can’t generate the files when I create the images?
OR
Is it possible that one of the FOG Services are not running? Is it possible to configure them manually? THANKS for the fast replies! -
Does the image exist in /images/image_name/ ? are the files the correct size?
What do you mean by the correct size? How would I know what the correct size is? I don’t have any files in the directory right now. -
RE: Volume not found error? Where do I even look to fix this?
I booted to debug mode.
cd /mnt --> mount is there
ls -l --> returned 0 Files
ls --> returned empty directoryShouldn’t the image directory be created by the WebUI when I generate a new image?
The below is what did before trying to grab the computers image. Is this correct?
Webui --> Image Management --> I add <image name>, <storage group>, <image file> and <image type>
For the <image file> i simply added 8215Server
The 8215Server should be a directory inside of the Images folder in /?Thanks!

RE: Question: Installation of FOG on exsisting Ubuntu w/ LAMP conflicts?
Check this out…
In the fog_0.32/lib/redhat Fog install folder, edit the config.sh file and remove the php-gettext from the package list. Remeber to edit the clamav package and a few other pieces outlined the CentOS install guide. Also, PHP 5.2.1+ is needed for Fog .32. CentOS comes with verson 5.1 you should unistall this version, and edit the same config script and change any PHP in the package list to PHP53
RE: Custom Fields in Database
I’d just add it to one of the tags. THey can be found here…
webui --> host management --> list all hosts --> click on the link of the host --> Hardware --> Other Tag 1 and Other Tag 2 is where I would enter your ID it would be accessible via the webui. -
RE: Question: Installation of FOG on exsisting Ubuntu w/ LAMP conflicts?
GOOD & BAD - I’m still waiting for a response as well.
BAD:
I uninstalled FOG and reinstalled - created a bunch of headaches. All which I have been able to over come except I’m having some kind of permissions issue with being able to view the volume at the image boot setup. I haven’t lost hope yet as I’m sure it’s just a mixed up password.GOOD:
When I reinstalled at the point it was going to setup MySQL it skipped that setup and just setup a new DB called ‘fog’. As long as you have a root@localhost with -p “” your MySQL DB should stay intact and only fog will be added.
Apache installed on my end also didn’t install since I already had the newest version. The version in latest FOG install includes Apache2 2.2.20 Server built: NOV 7th 2011 22:48:05Hope this helps!

RE: Hi Help with Fog
Windows 7 + Debain dual boot = you’ll have to add both operating systems to the computer you want to image. As FOG can’t separate out partitions.
Have you imaged the the dual boot computer above?
I wouldn’t recommend using and ISO to load up a computer as you need to take into account the hardware profile of the device.

Volume not found error? Where do I even look to fix this?
Attached image is the error I’m getting when trying to pull and image down to the FOG Server.
I’ve tried a ton of different directory’s. Even creating the missing ones Nothing can’t get this bug to move?
I’ve messed with the FOG user info in the web portal and had no success. Where or how do I resolve this setup?Prob important to know that I uninstalled everything - then cleaned out the DP - reset all the passwords as I did before - is it possible that the FOGImageReplicator/FOGMulticastManger/FOGScheduler are not even installed? I couldn’t seem to find the directory’s that they were suppose to be in?
What are some command lines I should use to debug?

Bonded NICs working LOCAL but no internet access?
I don’t have internet to the fog - i followed the tutorial on the wiki on how to bond.
The ifconfig is working and showing all the links that they are up.
Can’t ping anything beyond the router. But everything else inside the network seems to be working.
I only have two Nic’s not sure what to do here?I’m now able to resolve the host name but the ping states that the DESTINATION IS UNREACHABLE?
Ok - Now I’m noticing that the FOG server is still reachable at 192.168.1.13 but the PXE boot is time out?
I just noticed that my WLAN an DD-WRT also just died?
I shut down the FOG Server - restarted DD-WRT router and WLAN works. – Then turned on Router and DD-WRT died. Also the Static IP set for the FOG Server didn’t take and the static one set on the BOND0 of 192.168.1.13 didn’t take either. It set it to 192.168.1.42.I changed the DD-WRT to then point to the FOG server ending in .42 and the TFTP server said there was an ARP failure and didn’t boot. Any clue as to what is going on here - is my Broadcast address all screwed up? I don’t use FOG as the DHCP on my network and both cards should be on the same network via MODE 2 Bonded connection.
========== SOLUTION==========
My static settings were messing with my reserved DHCP address for that NIC MAC. I set from manual to dhcp and the internet started working again.
–BUT I’m now getting a TFTP open timeout. Since I’m using the bond0 address do I need to change any settings in FOG to reflect the new interface change - FIXED THIS - See LOAD VOLUME THREAD. -
RE: *Attempting to send inventory............ FOREVER?

RE: *Attempting to send inventory............ FOREVER?
I tried the latest Kernel - got this msg… The file was downloaded successfully. I did the WebUI install from another computer and not on the server.
Error: Unable to connect to tftp server.Blackout - I had a bunch of issues getting everything lined up and I install the fog setup a bunch of times should I just wipe the entire computer and start from scratch from this tutorial? http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/373
Thanks for you fast response - I’m excited to get this up and running!

RE: Router does not have PXE support
Here are some options for you - I did the DD-WRT version for a linksys router.
~$40 4 Port Router Wireless MIXED Linksys WRT54GS V7.2 DD-WRT – This one is 10/100
~$80 4 Port Router Wireless-N MIXED Linksys WRT160NL DD-WRT – This one is gigabit ready.You’ll need to install the DD-WRT onto these devices and then set it up as found here for FOG.
DD-WRT ->http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
FOG Setup for Above ->http://fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=FOG_with_DD-WRT_firmwareHope this help!

RE: *Attempting to send inventory............ FOREVER?
I took video of the processes for the inventory where it hangs - you might have to slow it down a little to see all the echos. – Does everything here look right?

Either way any know how to fix this or have any ideas - if you need any more feed back from me let me know. Haven’t slept yet tonight as I was hoping to test this out.

RE: Best router to use with FOG Server.
thanks blackout for the fast responses! Is there an industry term that would be used to describe this? I’m looking around but not sure what I should be looking for! Thanks!
