@cdutko said in Slow Image Deployment Speeds after Updating BZImage Files:

Am I supposed to run this command on a Client that I am deploying to?

Yes, and the client needs to be registered for it to run a debug deploy task. If you want to figure this out you need to look into the details and run those kinds of commands which you can’t if the client is not registered.

Also would it make sense to do this with the Old Kernel? Since that is working… I’m assuming we want to run this Debug command with the new kernel that is ‘not working’ for me.

Well I suggest you do the first round of tests using the new kernel to get some figures. This will tell us if it’s disk IO causing the slowness or not.

@cdutko The simplest way to do it is via this wiki page.

      https://docs.fogproject.org/en/latest/installation/install_fog_server.html

Using the git method is real easy. Performing upgrades are even easier. But lets get things setup on the 20.04 server first then you can follow this wiki page: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Migrate_FOG

The migration will leave the existing fog server in place but migrate (copy) the data over.

@sebastian-roth Thank you for your suggestions. My team and I were able to start from scratch with a new Win10 Pro image and we captured/deployed this new revision without issues. There must have been some sort of driver or configuration issue on the actual host image that was causing this.

Thank you for helping me double check that everything in my Fog settings were properly configured.

@george1421 You are an absolute legend George. It works now and I was able to PXE boot from my client PC and upload it to the Hosts screen. I can view it on the network and everything is working correctly.

      Thank you so much!
