    • RE: Some clients disappear from web interface but are still present in databse

I experienced this issue today, currently working from git version 4644 (so it’s a few days old). I’ve had about five computers disappear from the web interface throughout the day, but they remain in the database.

Also, and I’m not sure it’s related, but the service settings on some of my hosts are being changed regularly. I have one computer in particular that will regularly have all of it’s services turned off for some reason. I then turn them back on, and it’s good for a few hours before the settings get wiped again.

I’m leaving work for the day and have the next two days off, but when I get back I’ll make a separate thread for the services issue if it’s still a problem.

    • [r4642] Database is not updated after certain settings change

I upgraded to r4642 to get the fix for the Auto Log Out module, and that works great now (thanks again). However, I’m having issues getting some of my settings changes to stick.

SYMPTOMS: When I adjust certain settings (e.g. the timing for Auto Log Out), FOG will say that the settings have been updated, but nothing has in fact changed. After the page reloads, all the settings are the same. This seems to apply to any global settings page.

However, this problem is not across the board. I can still adjust the service settings for individual hosts, and that works fine. I can also create tasks for hosts, but these tasks will not remove themselves upon completion, and I am unable to manually remove from the tasks page (once again, FOG says it has made the update, but on reload the task is still there).

I have also tried several backups of my database (from before the upgrade to r4642), and the behavior remains the same.

I also wiped the database and attempted to have the installer recreate the schema, but it loaded a white screen with a short error message indicating the update did not work.

So that’s where I’m at now.

    • RE: ---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing

@Fritch94 I ran into this exact problem after upgrading FOG to the latest svn. It took me a while to track it down, but this solution worked:

It was a suggestion Tom made a while ago to another user with similar issues. Replacing pxelinux.0 with a sym-link to ipxe.kpxe did the trick for me. Hopefully it will work in your case.
