• RE: Error code 1326

@Whitespire-tech said in Error code 1326:

      1326

That error usually correlates to a bad username/password used. I’d try clearing out the AD account information under fog settings/Active Directory Defaults and re-entering. Make sure you enter the domain in the top box(AD DEFAULT DOMAINNAME) and not by the username in (AD DEFAULT USER).

Also make sure the password you enter in (AD DEFAULT PASSWORD) is not encrypted. The legacy password field is the one that requires encryption and is only for legacy clients.

After you make this change please update the AD settings under the individual host or host group(Click clear fields then uncheck/recheck the “Join Domain after deploy” box so it gets the new settings.

You don’t by chance have GP set up to add this printer as well do you?

Try setting your menu timeout a little higher, i’m betting these machines or a network lagg are causing the timer to expire before you are shown the menu.

Are you using a custom kernel for FOG?

ipxe does not give time frames for patches or upgrades.

If you want to know if ipxe will work for your machines, try changing your dhcp option 67 to ipxe.pxe and see if your systems work.

You can try searching ipxe’s forum for a supported hardware list and compare your nics to their list.

I really think you should revert back to undionly and begin troubleshooting from then on. At least that way you can upgrade later without worrying about issues arising due to you still using pxelinux.0.

If you were unable to get past the pxe timeout then your issue is not the same as the linked post so we need to start from step 1 and troubleshoot our way through.
flattered but i don’t think i am qualified. im just an avid fan of Fog and been using it for years. compiled existing how to’s and created my own version that ive tested and known working.
I fail to see how anything you just said makes you unqualified to post on the wiki…

Can you upload your fog install log? It is located here:
/var/log/foginstall.log
The client is for things after imaging(Renaming, deploying snapins, etc).

As far as your problems now it looks like your client is not connecting to your DHCP server as that is where the IP comes from.

    • RE: MAC IS null! only 0 mac address was found

Is there anything showing in your apache2 error log when this client tries to connect?

Stop the fog service on the client
net stop “FOG Service”
Follow the apache2 error log via a terminal to the fog server:
tail -f /var/log/apache2/error.log
Start the FOG service:
net start “FOG Service”
Watch the error log, if any entries show up, please post them here.

is there a folder under /images/dev with the mac of the host as the folder name?

If so you are having an FTP permission error, check the password for the fog system user, make sure it matches what’s in the UI. Also make sure your FTP info is correct under storage management.

    • RE: Server Shell error

This is by far affecting more than FOG.

Java has been doing a lot of updates recently and whenever you get the ignore and reload it will continue to block java. You need to go under the control panel and set a security exception for your FOG server’s IP.

This feature was actually removed from the newer versions of FOG.

You want undionly.kpxe in option 67.

Don’t you have a local account on any of your machines? You can log into the local admin account and disconnect/rejoin the domain instead of reinstalling windows.

    • RE: FOG time is far off

You need to change the timezone in php.

      Instructions:
search for “date.timezone” in your php.ini

      Time zone options:
      http://php.net/manual/en/timezones.php

Be sure to restart apache 2 after the change.
lsb_release -a
Will give you the OS version.

As for upgrading within the VM, why not use SVN?

I did miss a letter, my apologies. If it started the service there should be an output listing the pid hat it started with.

What version of Ubuntu are you running? And if you are doing re-installs of FOG why are you not using a more recent version??
