• RE: Init.gz and bzImage

OOOk thanks a lot !
I believed I would have to make some changes in this embedded system to make my FOG system running with very special clients (RAID, multi-OS, grub2…)

Good night 😉

• Init.gz and bzImage

Hello guys,

I’m trying to understand FOG’s mechanism in way to modify it for my project.
bzImage is the kernel that will be downloaded by the client and locally executed.
But what is exactly the file /tftpboot/images/init.gz ? Uncompressing it shows me a complete filesystem, but when is this file useful during PXE Boot Process ?
Sorry for my curiosity 😉

Have all a sweet night

• RE: Debian insserv issue

Lol, I found the solution on the first link after googling…

Move your FOG* files to another directory than /etc/init.d/, install you package, and then replace the FOG* files 😉

• Unable to move /images/dev/*** to /images/***

Hello everybody,

I recently tried to make a backup of a server (two SATA hard drives in RAID-1 with a SCSI Controller) using fog. I got the problem written in the title before imaging begins… I follow the instructions here http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Images_Directory_Permissions but it didn’t help me.

However, I’m able to image my laptop without problems. My question is also : does FOG support RAID-1 ? And if yes, does anyone have a solution ?

PS: Sorry for my frenchie english ^^
