      @Wayne-Workman
      It will be helpful šŸ™‚

      @Sebastian-Roth
      There is no spanning-tree in our configuration actually, i tried to boot with 2 differents computers (Latitude E5510 and Opx390) on the same port to do the packet captures. The first arrives to boot then find the pxe file, and upload its image, but the second has no response from DHCP ? That’s strange ^^ Both have the same configuration in dhcp strategy, i’ll try to erase/recreate the host on it

      Ok, after i’ve edited ā€œdefault.ipxeā€ it works, my PC boot on pxe interface
      i tried to upload the image of PC

      So: I created a task to upload the current image from the PC to my FOG server, it begins, then it reboot after 1 minute without error message, i’ll post a pcap too.
      Edit: Here is the pcap, protected by pw i’ll send you in private
      https://owncloud.lesrigole.fr/index.php/s/m2EChdbHuTdo3fW/authenticate

      EDIT IMPORTANT: I defined the storage type in my image settings to ā€œmultiple partition image / not resizableā€ and it seems working; partclone is currently running on my computer.

      For the first problem, here is the pcap file i recaptured with filter bootp || tftp

      Really appreciate your active help, from all you

      Hi !
      Thanks for your reply!
      value in ā€œFOG_WEB_HOSTā€ is the true ip… no problem.

      I’ll update to trunk today
      does FogUpdateIP works on Debian 8 jessie?

      Thanks for your reply!

      Ok, i used filters ā€œtftp && bootpā€ however …? Which one i must use to do a better capture ?

      MSFT 5.0 ? Strange… i just set up ā€œMAC Adressā€ ā€œis equal :ā€ in my dhcp strategy as you can see:
      alt text

      Any idea for my second problem?
      I re-ran the installfog.sh , defined IP to 10.1.11.170, IP of the storage node and i looked at all parameters on FOG interface > FOG Configuration > FOG Settings

      And my PC still try to open http://10.1.18.180/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php… ?

    • RE: Impossible to boot on PXE......

      @Sebastian-Roth

      Hi !

      I just registered two wireshark sessions, the first (OPX390.pcapng) is the one which have the problem i mentioned previously,

      the second (E5410) is another one which try to contact the IP 10.1.18.180 while the FOG server IP is configured to 10.1.11.170 (i updated option 66 in DHCP)

      Re-Edit: for the second problem, i think its about fog configuration, because i defined 10.1.18.180 while i installed fog. I modified the ā€œFOG_WOL_HOSTā€ to ā€œ10.1.11.170ā€, and ā€œFOG_TFTP_HOSTā€ , but the problem persists:
      http://10.1.18.180/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php … connection reset (http://ipxe.org/0f0c6039) Could not boot: connection reset

      Opx390:(3kb)

      E5410:(5mb???)

      @Arrowhead-IT @george1421
      Now i’ll configure the trunk to try to resolve the problem

      i’ll work on it tomorrow, i’ll come back with pcap file but i need to move my machines on a cisco manageable switch to setup the port mirroring, before setup the trunk to resolve (?) the problem.

      I will give you the status here

    • RE: Impossible to boot on PXE......

      FRESH NEWS!!! But also doesn’t work … ^^

      In the client BIOS, i defined the NIC controller enabled on w/PXE and not w/PXE/ImageServer. Now, DHCP gives an IP to my computer, then it displays:

      " iPXE itinialising devices … OK"
      iPXE 1.0.0+ '3a02) – Open Source Network Boot firmware – http://ipxe.org
      Features NFS FTP HTTP HTTPS iSCSI DNS TFTP VLAN AoE bzImage ELF MBOOT PXE PXEX
      Menu
      Configuring (net0 d0:67:xx:xx:xx:xx)

      Then it displays some lines i couldn’t see because of the speed… and it reboot…

      I understand, i’ve already done port mirroring, i can do this but which filters did i setup on wireshark?

      I think my DHCP parameters are good, but how to know if the basic config (which define the PXE boot on IP phone server) override the strategy i defined??

      @george1421

      I hope i understand as well as you want to.
      I think its a DHCP issue too, because i’ve tested FOG in my home network and it works (load the kpxe, but kernel error, in short…)

      ā€œYou may have to add the ftdp client to your windows buildā€ ?
      You talk about windows dhcp server ? how to do this?

      In my home network, i havent did anything about this, i just installed fog, defined DHCP options 66 & 67 on a wsrvr 2012r2 (same in this case), and my client was directly able to boot on kpxe

    • RE: Impossible to boot on PXE......

      Hi,

      Thanks for your fast response!!!

      10.1.18.180 (fog server IP) is defined on option 66
      undionly.kpxe is defined on option 67

      The reason why those options are not defined directly is not simple…
      Orange, our service provider for IP phones, used our DHCP options to load the AASTRA phones firmware by PXE, to simplify the configuration…
      Then, these reboot on dedicated voice vlan… (F*CK)… so i’m forced to find a solution to skirt this… Precision : i havent used FOG as DHCP server, did i had to?

      When i boot on NIC; thats steps are displayed:
      1/ Initializing and establishing link…
      2/ CLIENT MAC ADDR: XXXXXXXXXXX GUID XXXXXXXXXX
      CLIENT IP : 10.1.19.233 MASK 255.255.0.0
      GATEWAY X.X.X.X

      3/ PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout
      4/ PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent

      Selected boot device failed, press any key to reboot…

    • Impossible to boot on PXE......

      Hello,

      I’m sorry for my poor English, i’m french. I will explain as detailed as i can šŸ™‚
      I’ve installed FOG 1.2.0 on a Debian 8 virtual machine, no problems i can access the web interface to add my two ā€œtestā€ hosts. FOG is not used as a DHCP server in my configuration. On my domain controller, i’ve created a strategy with my 2 test mac addresses who force options 66 et 67 to undionly.kpxe et and fog server IP.

      When i go on ā€œHostsā€ in fog web interface, it does a ā€œmac pingā€ on my two hosts and it appears to be ā€œUPā€
      But, when i reboot my 2 test computers on ā€œNIC bootā€, it contact the DHCP server, takes an IP, then failed to load ā€œTFTPā€ and nothing shows me that these contact the FOG server…

      Fog would be very useful in my company, i need your help !! šŸ™‚

      Thanks

      Arnaud
