@Tom-Elliott there are no installation errors, the fog is installed without errors, but when I start a PC in pxe it stops at DHCP, as if it wanted to contact the fog but fails

fog configuration problem
Hi, I have a fog server set up with these parameters ip 192.168.11.1 gateway 192.168.11.1 dns 192.168.11.1 I exported the fog settings backup file to a mini PC on which I in turn installed fog I put the same values as the network card and the name of the card is also the same but it stops at dhcp what could it be? but I did the installation with other IPs, maybe it’s this? How can I put those values without reinstalling?

Node is offline
Hi, I tried to install fog on a PC with centos7, everything is ok, but NODE IS OFFLINE appears in the fog web interface, even if it is the default with the IP of the PC itself. do you know how it can be solved?

RE: Probable FOG server problem
@george1421 If I give you access to any desk on a PC that reaches the 2 servers, would you be able to understand if there is something wrong?

RE: Probable FOG server problem
@george1421 Can I ask you if I can send you some videos or photos of the situation on wathaspp?

RE: Probable FOG server problem
@george1421 ok, leaving aside the fact of speeding up the network, could you tell me why the HP, having the same VM fog config, doesn’t work like the DELL? it’s as if he couldn’t distribute the installments well between the PCs

Probable FOG server problem
Hi, I hope someone can help me, I’ll explain the problem:
I am part of a company that installs many PCs at the same time every day and then ships them.
In the company I have a dell r710 server with exsi 6.5 which has 3 network cards on each of which is connected to a 16 port non-management TP link switch (10/100/1000). On the exsi there are three virtual machines (FOG1 / FOG 2 / FOG3) associated with the three respective switches.
The deployment speed, even if I use like 10 PCs at a time, remains at 3GB rates
If I use just one PC it can reach 16/17GBs. And so far it’s ok.We also have another HP dl380 g7 server which we need to dedicate other workstations for other types of orders to be processed (PC) with a single FOG1 virtual machine associated with a single 16-port switch (10/100/1000) equal to the others.
The problem is this:
I backed up the DELL server on the HP one using the ConfigBundle.tar and Putty file, to have the same settings as the Dell for the fog server,If I put 5/6 computers the deployment speed goes to 1/2 gbs, while if I put one it can go to 16gbs.
It’s as if it couldn’t distribute the deployment speed
I’ll start by saying that I tried changing all the workstation cables and also the associated switch, I even changed disks, I put 2 Samsung SSDs in raid 1 with exsi 6.5 but nothing, it still does the same thingCOULD THERE BE SOME WRONG SETTINGS WITHIN THE FOG? HAVING CLONED TO SAY THE SAME SETTINGS AS DELL DOES IT WORK WELL?
ANOTHER QUESTION IS IT POSSIBLE TO SPEED UP MY FOG NETWORK EVEN MORE? WITHOUT CHANGING SWITCHES (THE CABLES ARE ALL CAT 7)
THANKS TO THOSE WHO CAN HELP ME

FOG speed problem
Hello, I have had a problem for a couple of days now, I have a hp dl380g7 server with exsi 6.5 and fog vm, if I put 10 pc at the same time the speed drops to like 1.3 and sometimes even less, however ’ the fact is that if I remove 5 PCs, while deploying all 10 the speed always remains the same, it does not increase.but if I start the deploy only on one pc the rate becomes 16gbs. i have checked the network card settings which comes out online and also set to both 1000 and auto-negotiate
the server setup is the exact copy of the other dell server i have and it works great.
could this be due to the server’s network card? I tried changing both switches and cables but nothing, it always does the same, but it worked fine at first. the server has no internet out, so it hasn’t even updated. -
deploy slow
Hi, I hope someone can give me clarifications and advice on this:
Our work consists in installing as many PCs as possible with Win 10 in the fastest possible way, in order to be able to fulfill as many orders as possible.
Fortunately we rely on Fog server
We have an EXSI server with 3 Fog WMs called FOG 1 FOG 2 FOG 3
these 3 WMs are connected to 3 switches (10/100/1000) to which the LAN cables (cat 6) of 3 groups of workstations for the PC tariff are connected.
By deploying an image of a 22gb image on a single pc (with ssd) the maximum speed is 16/17gbs (so he indicated to me while he was deploying)My question is: having only one pc connected in this case, is it possible that it goes at that speed? if the cables are cat 6 and the switches support up to 1gbs ? shouldn’t it exploit in this case with a single pc the whole 1gbs ?
Thank you

deploy lento
Fortunatamente ci affidiamo a Fog server
grazie

RE: Specification pc before deploy
@george1421 giorgio I would like to try to replace that fog.download file with the one you gave me, in which folder should it be replaced?
-
RE: Post download install script
@george1421 so if I understood correctly, I just create the setupcomplete.cmd file and write inside it start ms-settings:activation inside C:\ in audit mode and then when I go to deploy the image when starting windows 10 the right window opens ?
-
RE: Post download install script
@george1421 Will the setupcomplete.cmd script work even in the preliminary stage without configuring windows 10?
-
RE: Post download install script
@george1421 ah ok, could you tell me the procedure to do this?, how does it work before capturing the image?
-
RE: Post download install script
@george1421 ok, but I can use a snapin with a batch file that opens start ms-settings:activation after deploy, but there are no hosts, the PCs are not registered they are always different.
can the snapin be associated with all the storage and therefore with the images without accounting for the hosts? -
RE: Post download install script
but I read that just write in the post install file in the images folder
start ms-settings:activation, but it doesn’t work once deployed -
RE: Post download install script
ok, my intention is to create a script in the post-installation folder that allows me to open the start ms-settings:activation command as administrator in the preliminary phase of windows 10, after having distributed the image. can you help me george? A thousand thanks

Post download install script
hi, I have a question, in the fog server I can’t understand where and the setting of the post install deploy image scripts.
I read that there is a section in the fog settings, but I can’t find it,
I also tried to enable fog_post enable 1 in the fog configuration file but nothing. in practice the script must be created in the images/postdownloadinstall folder but the path must be set in the fog server right?
who can help me? -
RE: Specification pc before deploy
Grazie -
RE: Specification pc before deploy
Ok , but without registration before deploy as home page pxe ?
