Question about Queue Size Setting

Hey guys,
I’m new to Fog so please excuse the stupid question…
I’m trying to edit the setting FOG_QUEUESIZE but it’s not making any difference to the way the server is responding during MultiCast or UniCast jobs.
The default is set to 10 but I have changed it to 3. After I have all my hosts (25) setup and have them in a group. I go to Task Management > List all Groups. My group shows and then I have tried both Deployment Options Deploy (one green arrow pointing down) and MultiCast (forked green arrow pointing down).
If I choose MultiCast it will start all 25 PC’s and try to image them at the same time.
If I choose Deploy it will start all 25 PC’s, put 15 in a holding pattern, while it deploys the image to 10.
I would like to limit it to 3 to 5 at a time because I’m hopping through 3 switches and it’s very slow. With all 25 running with MultiCast it shows over 800 hours left at 1% completed. With 10 at a time it’s taking about 10 hours.
Is there any way to limit the number of systems it will deploy to at a time?

Thanks

you could create groups of 3-5 computers and schedule CRON to jobs run after each group finishes. if I image 1 computer in my lab I get data transfer rates of 1.2 GB/min, two computers cuts that down to 650 MB/min and four computers gets me down to 325 MB/min. These numbers give me a rough idea how long it will take to push a 11Gb image.
Since you are running through more switches than I use, your times may differ.
I have spent the summer playing around with a new fog_0.32 server and getting my timings figured out for when I push my full 60 GB image to one of the labs that uses two different computer systems. I will have to push 14 images then schedule the other 11 to follow. I will want this whole process to happen in one night, as I have 2 more labs to get imaged in the same weekend.

Ok…
I found this in another thread by chad-bisd“go to your Fog server web page, login, go to storage management icon, click All Storage Nodes on the left menu. Select the storage node you want to edit, which is probably DefaultMember, adjust the MaxClients value there to however low you want it.”
Here’s the thread…
