M2 PCIe SSD will not register
-
Hello,
I have just joined the Fog Forum as I have began to use FOG for imaging in my organisation.I am not able to perform a Quick Registration and Inventory on Dell machines
(such as Optiplex 7040 and Latitude E5470) that have a M2 PCIe SSD.The machine sits with a flashing cursor after numerous tries of
“Attempting to register host”I can remove the SSD and build it with an adapter using a normal Host but would prefer to be able to register the machines as hosts without having to remove them to build them.
Please does anyone have any advice on whether this can be achieved?
Many Thanks

First of all welcome to the FOG forums.
Second, what version of FOG are you using?
I can tell you I have o7040 and e7270s on my campus witn NVMe disks and they do work with FOG.

Hello George,
Thanks.
Sorry I should have said in the initial post.
v1.1.2 on one server and
v1.2 on a different server. We are in process of building v1.34 server.

@SDToone Well you are on the right path, FOG 1.2.0 doesn’t support NVMe (M.2) disk at all and uefi systems a little.

Thanks George, appreciated

Hello George and all,
I am now testing on a Fog v1.3.5 Server.I am able to Quick Register an M2 Disk now that is in the machine, however I cannot download an image.
I receive various Kernel issues.
Are there specific settings I need to change to allow this? Thanks

@SDToone Clear screen shots of the errors would help to set the context of the error you see.
