Fog server and clients on different subnet and proxy DHCP, possible?
-
I just finished setting up a Fog Server. Specs are:
Dell P1950 - running ESXi 5
Ubuntu Server 12.04 VM w/ Fog 0.32The server sits on a subnet in my DMZ, aaa.aaa.aaa.0
The clients all reside in a second subnet outside the DMZ, bbb.bbb.bbb.0There are existing DHCP servers in my environment that I cannot edit.
I chose ‘no’ to all DNS/DHCP option when installing Fog and installed dnsmasq.
Everything appears to be functional, but I cannot figure out how to get the Fog server to answer pxe requests from subnet bbb.bbb.bbb.0 with proxyDHCP.Is this even possible without having access to the DHCP servers? If not, is the next best option use boot media to point the clients directly to the Fog server to push/pull images?
Cheers!

I’ve updated the WIKI article on using Fog + ProxyDHCP (LTSP and dnsmasq) with information on running across multiple subnets.
