Install fails - SVN revision 5520 on Centos 7 minimal 1511
-
After unsuccesfull attempts to install on Debian using the Git method i wanted to give FOG on CentOS using the CVN method a try. Did everything according to the wiki. No luck today
I want the latest version because Win10 support is important to my institution.
Big row of OK’s and then it fails at the “setting up fog password…” stage.
Cannot give an Apache error log this time because Apache is not yet started at this point.

I’m just guessing but some other item had already created the fog user but didn’t have a password created, properly, for the user.
I’ve added some code in hopes to make sure we have a password defined.
-
Also, in the bin directory, there’s a folder called error_logs.
Please post the current written file. It should tell us WHY it failed. (hopefully)

@Tom-Elliott : Thanks for the quick responses.
The fog user was already setup because I ran the setup script twice, the first time it also failed on “setting up password”. I ran it the second time so I could take a screenshot. Here is the log file and the install log file.

@coco65 See this: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/6926/setting-up-fog-password-fails-on-clean-new-centos-7-install
Most probably you haven’t properly configured or turned off SElinux!
Moving this to FOG problems as I am pretty sure this is not a bug.

@Sebastian-Roth : Yes you are right, i’m a Linux newbie so after a problem on the Debian trunk side I wanted to try something else, like CentOS, because many hosting providers seem to use that. But the Debian problem was quickly solved so I am turning back to that, the Git install works perfectly on that platform now. Sorry for bothering you.

@coco65 No problem at all. Didn’t take me more than a minute to remember and find the old post. Hope this one will make the question more visible in the forums to help others who are running into the same thing.
