BZImage...No such file or directory when trying to start an image
-
When I try to start an image task or a quick image I always get the following error.
http://[IP_Address]/service/ipxe/bzImage
Could not boot: No such file or directoryThese errors are coming from a Lenovo P50 laptop with a NVMe SSD hard drive. It’s a brand new model and have had nothing but trouble trying to get FOG to work with it.
I am currently running FOG git version 7613 but was currently running 1.2.0 stable.

@Shannon-Render Hi, have you try with your browser the url : http://[IP_Address]/service/ipxe/bzImage
-
Interesting the first thing I noticed is your URL is wrong: http://[IP_Address]/service/ipxe/bzImage should be http://[IP_Address]/fog/service/ipxe/bzImage Not sure if that is a type-o or something is missing in your storage node configuration.
If you are getting the error that bzImage is missing, please inspect the following path on the fog server /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe make sure bzImage, bzImage32, init.xz and init32.xz are in that location. If they are not something happened during your last refresh and the installer did not download the kernels properly.
-
I have checked the URL and I get a 404 Not Found when trying to access it using a web browser. http://[URL_IPAddress]/service/ipxe/bzImage
Using winscp I was able to verify that the path and files are there.
-
Please take a look on:
FOG Configuration Page->FOG Settings->Web Server->FOG_WEB_ROOT.
I’m just guessing but the value there is blank? If so, please make it read as /fog
-
The setting looks fine on the server.
-
@Shannon-Render Is it also fine in the storage node configuration?
-
You guys are amazing…thanks for the help with fixing this. I am currently imaging the laptop right now with your help. It was missing at the storage node level. I created a storage node and I must have had a typo.
-
@Shannon-Render So you have trunk installed?
-
Never mind, I’m a dumbass:
@Shannon-Render said in BZImage...No such file or directory when trying to start an image:
I am currently running FOG git version 7613 but was currently running 1.2.0 stable.

@george1421 Hopefully you will see this I am still new to fog, where do I find the Storage node configuration? I am running the latest version of fog and am getting this error. I can download from the web browser to confirm the kernel is there but keep getting the error below.!

@ryan.mckenzie I can’t tell if your image uploaded appropriately.
-
-
@Tom-Elliott This is the error I get
-
@ryan.mckenzie So the problem is your host (Host->Edit->Host Kernel), (or possibly FOG Configuration Page->FOG Settings->TFTP Server->FOG_TFTP_PXE_KERNEL is set incorrectly)?
Please change the “bzImage412” to be “bzImage”
-
@Tom-Elliott yes it works for other models with the default bzImage. I was trying to load this kernel 4.1.2 for an optiplex 780. only having trouble on this model of computers
-
-
@ryan.mckenzie Then check the host in the host page.
-
-
@ryan.mckenzie Remove the /var/www/fog/service/ipxe/bzImage412 from that host in the host kernel field
