Problems with multicast task
-
Hi guys,
I’m doing some test with multicast function in FOG but… at moment, I don’t have had a good start…
I have read the posts about this issue (configuration, troubleshooting, some problems …) but I don’t have find some that helpful. For start, when I try to restart the MulticastFOG service this get me a error:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method MulticastManager::getBanner() in /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager on line 13
In the log (/opt/fog/log/multicast.log) isn’t writing nothing on this day… Only I have some entries for dates ago like this:
[03-31-16 9:54:02 am] * No tasks found!
[03-31-16 9:54:12 am] * No tasks found!
[03-31-16 9:54:22 am] * No tasks found!
[03-31-16 9:54:32 am] * No tasks found!
[03-31-16 9:54:42 am] | StorageNode Not found on this system. My Multicast settings in GUI are by default and the FOG_UDPCAST_INTERFACE it’s correct (I only have a interface in this server, eth0).
When I start a task multicast, it seems that starts successfully but when it comes to the deployment I get this error:
My FOG server is installed in a CentOS 6.5, the base version is 1.2.0 and SVN version is 7599.
Any idea?
Thank you!

What’s the interface name on the Server?
ifconfig
What’s the GUI show for that Storage Node?
Storage Management Page->List all Nodes->[Your Relevant Master Node]->Interface

@Tom-Elliott, here is the information

@Miguel-Palacios Is the FOG service on the server running?

As well do you see any udp-sender commands in
ps ax | grep udp
?Please post what you see in the multicast log file (web gui -> FOG configuration -> log viewer)
-
@Sebastian-Roth, the service appear that is running
[root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 /]# ps ax | grep FOGMulti 12199 ? Z 0:00 [FOGMulticastMan] <defunct> 12231 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep FOGMulti 23832 ? S 0:01 /usr/bin/php -q /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager
and I can’t see any udp sender…
[root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 /]# ps ax | grep udp 12238 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep udp

Error in the logs
StorageNode Not found on this system
?? I think I’ve seen this happening somewhere already but can’t really remember. @Tom-Elliott Have you got an idea? -
@Sebastian-Roth Is the node this is referencing the master node?
-
@Sebastian-Roth, @Tom-Elliot, important that these entries in the log are old… 03/31/2016. Since then there aren’t new entries…
-
What version are you currently running?
-
The base version is 1.2.0 and SVN version is 7599
-
Hello, i have the same issue with only 1 interface on my fog and a basic configuration node
-
@Sunks We are more than happy to help you with whatever issue you have. But please open your own topic so we don’t get things mixed up here. As well I have to add that we hear things like “i have the same issue” often and most of the times it turns out to be a different problem! So please describe in detail your setup (OS version, FOG version, network setup, log files, …) and we surely will be able to give you a hand with this.
@Miguel-Palacios Does restarting the service help for you?
service FOGMulticastManager restart
You should see newer messages in the logs… -
@Sebastian-Roth, when I restart the service appear this error…
[root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 ~]# service FOGMulticastManager restart Reiniciando FOGMulticastManager: [ OK ] [root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 ~]# PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method MulticastManager::getBanner() in /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager on line 13
The log continued same… No entries
-
@Miguel-Palacios Is there some extra information in the Apache error log?
In the mean time, updating to the latest and checking again might be useful.
-
@Quazz I have install the las version (7659). If I restart the process appear the same error:
[root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 bin]# PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method MulticastManager::getBanner() in /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager on line 13

Do you actually see the new version number (7659) in the blue cloud on the web interface after upgrading to the latest?
Please run:
ls -al /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager ls -al /var/www/fog/lib/service/fogservice.class.php ls -al /var/www/fog/lib/service/multicastmanager.class.php grep getBanner /var/www/fog/lib/service/fogservice.class.php
Possibly the www paths might be
/var/www/html/fog/lib/...
-
@Sebastian-Roth, yes… you can view here
[root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 fog]# ls -al /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 634 may 17 18:06 /opt/fog/service/FOGMulticastManager/FOGMulticastManager [root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 fog]# ls -al /var/www/fog/lib/service/fogservice.class.php -rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 14782 may 17 17:59 /var/www/fog/lib/service/fogservice.class.php [root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 fog]# ls -al /var/www/fog/lib/service/multicastmanager.class.php -rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 9832 may 17 17:59 /var/www/fog/lib/service/multicastmanager.class.php [root@IMG-28V-LMES-20 fog]# grep getBanner /var/www/fog/lib/service/fogservice.class.php public function getBanner() {
