What version of FOG are you running (From the cloud logo)? The 2015 kernels are older, and I don’t know what drivers the e7470 needs. However, if you could try trunk, you may see better success.

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG! Get in contact with me (chat bubble in the top right corner) if you want to join in.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG

@Tom-Elliott Hi Tom we are using .32

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean by “trunk”?

Oh I see you mean upgrade to the latest version. I’ll see how I go. Last time I tried to upgrade was a nightmare 👍

I do need to rebuild it anyway because i need more storage and I can’t see to easily expand the drive anyway.

Hi, trunk versions are dev versions, you can see on the wiki how to install : https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_to_trunk

I’ve upgrade from 1.2 to trunk without problem, I don’t know if it’s easy from 0.32. If you want to change version and add more storage on your FOG, I think the better choice is to install a new FOG server.

As ch3i said I’d also suggest in setting up a new seperate FOG trunk server and see how things work for you there. If imaging your Latitude E7470 works and you are happy with trunk we can start thinking about how to export/import all your DB data.

This laptop is so new there is almost no detailed information about it, other than useless marketing info. Even the dell driver site doesn’t have any drivers or useful information about this system. If you have windows running on this today you may be able to find out the nic being used by its vendor and device codes. Getting kernels that support the hardware may be half of your battle here. You will probably be capturing/deploying window 10 to this box you will run into issues with efi (bios) and gpt disks with any version of fog before recent version of the trunk build. Spinning up a new and current version of fog is probably you only chance to capture and deploy this model.

You have reached the point where leading edge hardware as met up with the bleeding edge side for deployment.

                Hi,

There is a cab file here with all of the drivers for this machine: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/11830.latitude-e7470-windows-7-driver-pack

I’m going to setup a new trunk server and see if it can image the machine.

Please register the host by hand via the web gui (Host Management -> Add Host) with its MAC address. Then schedule a debug upload task (normal upload task but tick the option “Schedule task as a debug task”), start the machine up and wait till you get to the shell - you might see DHCP issues but should get to the shell eventually. Then run the following command: lspci -nn | grep Ethernet

The cabs include all possible drivers for this model. What we need the OP to do is spin up a trunk build of FOG, then if the device won’t image we’ll need the OP to get the vendor and device code for the actual installed network adapter from windows. That way we can compare it against what linux has available.

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

@andyroo54 Are those Latitude E7470s registering/booting with your new FOG trunk server?

@Sebastian-Roth Yes Sebastian, I meant to write yesterday, fog is booting no probs now with the new trunk version. I am getting corruption of the image but that might be the OEM image I’m trying to upload. I’m going to try a win 10 soe today.
