can't image! image fails, pigz: skipping: stdin in not compressed...

Having an issue pulling down our images. They start, restore /dev/sda1, then fails restoring /dev/sda2.

pigz: skipping: <stdin> is not compressed
This is not a partclone image.

An error has been detected!
Image failed to restore and exited with exit code 0 (writeImage)

Thing is, the images were made using partclone. Just to try, I changed the properties of the image to partimage to see the results which was the error has been detected, device will reboot in 1 minute.

Images are partclone in the default /images folder. All multi partition, single disk, not resizable (Win7x32). I’ve tried three different images on two different machine types with the same results. If there is any other info I can give please ask.

Can you give us the ouptut of ls -lahRt /images please? This will output the /images directory and all sub directories.

Also, what have you done to try to solve this? Have you tried re-uploading this image? Has this image ever been successfully deployed or is it freshly uploaded?

I updated two the two newest svns at the time this showed up, but that didn’t make a difference. I did run the commands below for rights although they were already the same.

chown -R fog:root /images
chmod -R 777 /images
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/fog
chmod -R 755 /var/www/fog/
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/isos
chmod -R 755 /var/www/isos/
chmod -R 644 /var/www/fog/index.php

We tried two different machine types, both of wich have two images that can be deployed to them. 4000 and DAK61 are the images we used.

I haven’t yet uploaded a new image, but will be doing so shortly.

@Scott-B Those two images are definitely partclone images, and they look like they are non-resizable. They both have mbr files and partition #2 files.

On the computer you tried with, try a different hard drive, and reseat the ram.

I pushed up a new image from one of the host types I was testing with. With that new image I was able to deploy to another host. Corrupted image? Even my backup of that image did the exact same thing. Is there a way to scan or test a partclone image to see if its corrupt?

Yes. I want to make a snapin just for this actually, but the snapins creation process is really confusing to me. I’ve rigged together a little thing-a-mo-bob that you can use to manually check image integrity… although it’s labor intensive to check (but then again, you’d only check if you have issues with a specific image).
