Add several option in boot menu with fog 1.2.0
-
Hello,
I’m new in my IT team.
Currently we use 0.32 fog version with win7 stations .
Our fog server is also dhcp, dns.
We use MDT 10 to prepare the master and deploy after with fog. So, in the boot menu, we have added a enter to load winpe by pxe on the fog server.I’m working to migrate to windows 10 all stations.
So I chose to install a model with a fog 1.2.0 over centos 7.
But the layout of pxe configuration changed between 032 and 1.2. No more pxelinux.cfg/default for differents choise in boot menu.
I have not found any document like this one https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Include_any_ISO_in_the_FOG_Bootmenu to modify boot menu.
I’m looking for a direction for the solution.Could you help me ?

I already told you in the other thread that you were asking for assistance with, use the FOG Advanced Menu. That’s what the tutorial is using. You go to FOG Settings->PXE Menu->Advanced, expand if needed, and put in your information.
A LOT has changed since 0.32, and most of it is now a much more dynamic solution.

Thanks Tom

@lebrun78 FYI it’s a lot easier to do in FOG Trunk. here’s an example using FOG Trunk: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/DBAN_(Darik’s_Boot_and_Nuke)
https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_to_trunk
Of course, if you require a stable environment, stay on 1.2.0. If you use FOG Trunk, I’d recommend virtualizing it and keeping up with your snapshots and backups for safety. FYI I use FOG Trunk in a production environment and it’s virtualized in Hyper-V.

@Wayne-Workman
Thanks, with this example, it is much clearer for me now -
@Tom-Elliott
I can’t found files modified.
To appease my curiosity, could you tell me which files are modified ? -
@lebrun78 There are no files to change.
The advanced menu is purely a GUI item. From the GUI goto FOG Configuration Page->PXE Settings->Advanced Menu
