1.2.0 is the latest stable version, but I do not believe those options were added untila later revision. You can upgrade to trunk which has been reliable and stable for me that last few months.
Of course make sure you backup first.
OK I have updated to trunk. Re sym linked the undionk.kkpxe file. get into fog menu and try to do a host reg and still gets stuck after /init.xz…Ok

@cml Dude you’re an animal.

Played around last night for a time and still unable to get these laptops to work correctly with fog.
Still noticing that when I click anything in the fog pxe menu. after it loads the kernel and pxe image the adapter goes dead and has no connectivity.
-
@Dragnous When it goes dead can you try unplugging the usb and plugging it back in?

Is it possible that your employer can get a USB to Ethernet adapter that is known to work with FOG?
Look at this list: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/WorkingDevices#USB_Ethernet_Adapters
-
@Dragnous did you set the ‘has_usb_nic=1’ kernel parameter ?

We have tried this before however HP seems to have issues supporting Other Adapters lol… Plus we get Grants that are specific and in this case was a HP deal so we are getting 40 of the adapters with the laptops lol
Yes I have changed the Argument.
If someone has time I could give a teamviewer code and have someone look at my settings for me… I am always up for help.

I’ve actually had this exact same problem with a realtek USB ethernet adapter that comes with the Dell M3800.
Sadly, the only thing I have found that works is another adapter. And I’ve even tried compiling a custom fog kernel that has every available network driver enabled. Didn’t work so I went back to the ones that are provided. One of the dell’s came with a different adapter that works though. It has a SMC LAN7500 chip, that one works and it works without a hitch.
It’s possible that hp might exchange just the adapter for one with that chip if they have one. Sadly the one that works doesn’t actually have any labels or part numbers on it so I can’t find it anywhere on the internet to show you where to get it.

Still no luck yet with this. lol but I am sure something will come up to ensure its workability.

I wouldn’t count on it…
You should look into getting an adapter that is known to work with FOG.

Did this before and the adapter didnt work with the laptops we got lol.

@Dragnous Search the forums, people have found adapters that work well.
Just buy a few of those (whatever they are) and use em till the wheels fall off.
