Image failing to upload with FOG 1.2
-
I get an “Invalid MAC Address” response when I try to register from the boot menu.

Now we’re cooking.
Please try to set your DHCP option 067 to undionly.kkpxe and see if you get the same error or not.
Another area to look at is the boot menu’s “Compatibility” items…
-
When I’ve tried changing to “undionly.kkpxe” it will go to the FOG menu but won’t load windows. When I go through the “Compatibility” options I can ping the server, it displays a MAC address, and the “Check FOG Compatibility” passes.
-
@SantRamos What is the model of the target device? Also, when you choose “display MAC” in the compatibility menu, does it display the correct MAC ?
-
It’s a Dell Latitude E6520. When I go through “Display MAC” it displays the correct one.

Is this the only model affected, or will no model upload an image?
-
No model will upload.
-
@SantRamos Can you ensure that your firewall is turned off on the FOG server?
-
Yes, the firewall is turned off on both the FOG server and the host I am trying to upload from.
-
Are you using the Location plugin?
-
No, we’re not using the location plugin.
-
@SantRamos I think I know where your failure is… when you say “fails to initialize” I think that’s the actual error, right?
Look through this: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_TFTP
-
When I check on the status I get
fog@ubuntu:~$ service tftpd-hpa status status: unable to connect to system bus: failed to connect to socket /var/run/bus/system_bus_socket: no such file or directory
-
@SantRamos The command might be different in Ubuntu 10…
Can you try the “testing TFTP” parts at the top? If that works, tftp is indeed running and ok.
-
I can tftp from a windows machine on the network and get the undionly.kpxe file.
-
@SantRamos Then TFTP is fine.
Can you take a photo of the error you’re seeing and post it?
-
I get this every once in a while when restarting the machine I’m trying to pull the image from. But other than that, there isn’t an error; it just fails to begin the upload.
-
@SantRamos Smells like an IP conflict…
