Laptop Won't Load FOG Boot Menu
I have a new Toshiba Tecra Laptop that is setup to PXE boot. I can actually see the laptop doing a PXE boot, however, it never brings up the FOG menu. It instead boots into windows. I know my Fog server is working because there are other PCs in the building that can boot to the Fog menu.
When the laptop is trying to PXE boot, I do see the following on the screen:
configuring (net0 <MAC ADDRESS>)…ok
http://<ip address of fog server>/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php…ok
Booting from SAN device 0x88
…so it appears as though my laptop sees the Fog server but chooses to ignore it. Any suggestions? I need to boot this laptop into fog so I can make an image of it.
The version of fog we are running is 1.2.0
If you’re Running Ubuntu, or Debian you can try the DNSMASQ service, it sometimes helps to alleviate issues and resolve to your tftp boot server with your correct file.
Instructions can be found here: http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Using_FOG_with_an_unmodifiable_DHCP_server/_Using_FOG_with_no_DHCP_server#DNSMASQ_settings_for_iPXE
Use the section DNSMASQ Settings for iPXE.
