Hi ,

I have freshly installed 1.1.1 in 13.04(64 bit).

1. While loading ipxe most of the time it tells “download : operation not supported” or it just exits without loading FOG menu without any message. We need to reboot twice or thrice to load Fog menu.

2. When I try to perform full host registration, It exits and get into the OS. We need to try twice or thrice perform full host register.

I have tried with different kernels and FOG boot settings. I searched wiki for four days I couldn’t able to find the issue. Firewall is disabled. It loads the bzimage - ok and init.xz -ok and in the next step is where the problem is.
I have installed FOG 1.1.1 multiple times but same issue.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Can you please tell me the change in settings that should be made on the switches for FOG.

Siva, I don’t have any Juniper switches either at my workplace or at home to do test settings with. I found this documentation to help you with getting the proper setup.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

If these are Cisco switches, might you be able to enable “PortFast”?

Here spanning tree is must for some network requirement it seems and I don’t have access for the core switch to test it. I am help less now.

Yeah I am getting IP from DHCP Server.

Can you disable spanning tree, I believe you’ll have much more success with getting IP information.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the prompt response.

The error is - "Could not boot : connection timed out (http://ipxe.org/4c0a6035) "
(This error come after selecting full host registration - It loads bzImage and this error comes and exits)

Yes spanning tree is enable in the switch.

Thanks&Regards,
Siva

When you say the system gets: “download : operation not supported” what is the exact error message? Is it 040e119?

On your network, do you have Spanning Tree Protocol enabled on your switches? This is most likely the cause for your Operation Not Supported error. My guess is this is probably what’s causing the problem with full host registration as well.
