I’ve found the setting in the config to show legacy mode - I’ve changed the image to PartClone

      Using Kernel:-

      Kernel - 3.14.2 TomElliott
      FOG ID: 1054

I still get the non-booting as shown in image IMG_2048.jpg

      Using Kernel:-

      Unofficial Published Kernels
      Kernel - 3.14.5 TomElliott
      Date : June 1, 2014
      Version: 3.14.5
      FOG Type: TomElliott
      Arch Type: (x86_64)

I get to the screen shown in image 2044 in original post then restarts without starting to deploy.

      Anything else I can try?!?!

      Thanks

      Matt

you’ll want to enable FOG_LEGACY_FLAG_IN_GUI IN the general settings section of fog settings, then change the value on the images

          Thanks Junkhacker…

I found the setting and did that but still doesn’t seem to be working? 😞

          Anything else I can try?

          Thanks

          Matt

The legacy flag only enables you to change the imaging type.

After the flag is enabled, go back to image management and find your image. Change the type from partimage to partclone in the selector.

            Thank you,

              Sorry Tom,

I’ve done that - but still can’t get it to deploy 😞

Does anybody have any further suggestions I can try please? I’ve got a new hard drive waiting to be imaged but I’m kind of stuck at the moment with it all.

                Thanks

                Matt

Is there even a partition on the disk for FOG to install the image to?

I understand that you are restoring partitions, but a partition must exist to install to in the first place.

I made a walk through explaining how to use the debug system in fog to create and remove partitions.

The disk is brand new out the box - so no partition - I’m not doing anything different with it to what I’ve done when using 0.33.

We have a setup of 50 Tablet PC’s…

I get a new disk, install it in the machine which had a faulty disk, I go into Fog UI, select the client/host that has the new hard drive installed and deploy (download) the image to the client, the client (under 0.33) would then boot from the network - load up the cloning screen (blue screen - % bar) then after about 4 minutes would reboot and I would get the System Setup screen following a sysprep of the image.

This has work without issue under 0.33 for the last couple of years, but I can’t get it to do a thing now on 1.0.1

Try my walk through and adding a partition to the disk then try to image it. OR use gparted and add a partition, or use a windows disk and add a partition, just add a partition then try 😉

                            Success!!!
I added a partition to the hard drive and it worked (only that the first message said it was not a partclone image, so I changed it back to PartDisk and the image has restored.

My only question is now - WHY?? Why have I had create a new partition on the disk first before it would work, I’ve done this 100’s of times under 0.33 (and 0.32) and I’ve NEVER had to perform that step first, everything just “worked” when I deployed the image.

                            Thanks very much

                            Matt

many manufacturers ship out their drives pre-formatted from quality control testing. are you certain that your prior drives didn’t have partitions?

I am certain - the disk’s have all come from the same place - and I have NEVER had to partition them first before I can download the image from FOG.
