Recreating master node
-
Hello all,
we have one FOG 1.6 master node with seven storage nodes slaved to it. The master node is pretty old and is on an older version of Rocky Linux to the storage nodes.
I’d like to recreate the master node on our new servers (which will enable me to allocate more space for snapins etc). Can I:
-
Back up FOG as outlined here: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Backing_up_FOG
-
Turn off all FOG nodes
-
Spin up a new Rocky Linux server, set the IP address of the new master to the same as the old master node
-
Copy /images to new server
-
Install FOG as normal on new server
-
Restore FOG from previous backup https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Restoring_FOG_from_Backup
-
Rerun FOG installer on storage nodes
Is that everything? Would the link to the FOG clients be broken, and require resetting encryption data?
Cheers!
