Some corporations block the use of ping, so testing the internet connection with ping always results in the installer saying that the internet connection test fails, despite the package manager, curl, wget, ect. being able to go out to the internet and do their job.

Would like to see the test changed to something like wget a file from FOG’s website, and use the result of that to determine the internet connection, instead of ping. It would be a more reliable test to verify that files can be pulled.

      Thanks!

@tcthorne Ping test was replaced by DNS and HTTP(S) checks in dev-branch version some months ago - see commits 6320619, b005772, 55ee2a5 and 5a3e075.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@tcthorne If you want to switch over to the 1.5.9 dev branch I can give you instructions. That will take your fog build to 1.5.9.115 or later. The dev branch also contains fixes for single disk resizable function with windows 20H2 and later OS’

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!
