Storage node for third party vendor to reimage the system
-
Is it achievable that provide a storage node to a third-party company to image the laptops for our company from scratch? Apart from the storage node, we will provide them with a VPN connection to our site with master web portal login. We are running our master and nodes on Fog 1.5.5 Ubuntu 16.04 servers.
Any information or ideas are more than welcome. I have been using Fog for the last five years but only as a single master node. I am recently joining the new company, and they are looking for this type of solution(outsourcing the imaging job) and want to make sure it work fine when they bring it back to organization.
If you need any more information please let me know. -
@dinesh_fog As part of your imaging process, will the target computers connect to Active directory at the remote site, or will they be imaging like when dell does it for customers, the image is loaded but the first boot is a the customer location so the machine first connects to AD at the customer site. So from the imaging side, the image is deployed to the target computer at the remote site then powered off. First boot happens at the customer site.
Will the remote site have a full time VPN (at least during imaging)?

Both versions are really old. Just want to mention that we don’t support such old version. We’ll still answer questions about this but not fix issues.
