Update 1.5.2 to 1.5.9
-
 Hi,
I just noticed that I have a fog server that is not up to date.
The version is 1.5.2, I would like to upgrade to 1.5.9.
It works on a debian 9
What do you recommend me to do in order please?

@Zaqen Wow, 1.5.2 is really old! Although updating should work in general I can’t promise this is going without a hickup considering the huge version step. -
Is your system installed directly on hardware or within some kind of hypervisor where you can take a snapshot?
-
Is your Debian 9 install up to date? Did you instally Debian updates on a regular basis?

@Zaqen said: Hi, i have doing distupgrade and fog 1.5.2 is broken What exactly is broken? If you want us to help we need more information on what exctly went wrong. In any case I suggest you take a backup of your system before starting to upgrade such an old system. Should have said that before but I thought you are probably aware of that. You recommended to upgrade with 1.5.3 and 1.5.4 and 1.5.5 and 1.5.6 and 1.5.7…to 1.5.9 ? or directly try to upgrade to 1.5.9 ? AFTER a proper backup of the whole system and the database & images separately you want to do a normal system update first (e.g. apt-get update && apt-get upgrade). Then you can go from 1.5.2 to 1.5.9 directly. But there is another route you can go and that is setting up a new server, import the database from the old one, copy files and images: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Migrate_FOG
