IP Address Updating

Is there a way to use the FOG service to automatically update the IP address field in the webgui?

I don’t think there is a currently code that does this, but it could be added by creating another module and deploying it. I do not use the IP address field, and I don’t really know what it does in FOG other than documentation.

It does seem to be a documentation field. After we image a computer we connect to it to copy documents back over VNC. Occasionally we cannot connect using hostname for several hours however IP address works instantly. Just looking for added ease of use.

If you have a C# developer, you can probably create a module that does this, but I don’t believe it’s built into FOG right now. Check the feature request forums and see if it’s already been suggested and do so if it has not been.
