DHCP address is not assigned for client machine boot with PXE

  • I install the latest version of fog project and i assign the dhcp and dns ip’s are same as my router ip address. now i boot my client system with PXE mode, thereafter DHCP is not assigned i usually waits long time and automatically exit from the pxe boot. is there any thing i missed the configuration ?

@Dinesh So is the new FOG server meant to serve DHCP in your network. Did you make sure to not have any other device (like the router) also handing out DHCP addresses? Just want to make sure because this can cause problems that are hard to find.

Check to see if DHCP service is running on your system: systemctl status isc-dhcp-server (Debian/Ubuntu) or systemctl status dhcpd (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora)

  • @Sebastian-Roth yes i checked and now works its fine
