I am running FOG on Ubuntu 11.04. I have an additional 500GB drive that I have mounted as a folder inside of the /images directory as “hd2500”.

My question is concerning how FOG interacts with the /images/hd2500 directory. Will the total storage amount listed on the FOG Dashboard under Disk Information show the additional space added?

How does one use this directory when creating a new image? In the FOG WEB GUI, would you change the path listed on the Image Management section listed under “Image File:” to match the subfolder that I created at /images/hd2500?

I’ve run out of space on my original drive and I want to be able to schedule an image upload and have it stored in the /images/hd2500 directory that I added, while keeping my existing images stored in /images. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don’t think that works like that… You’ll probably have to create a new storage node.
Maybe you can move the images you already had to the new drive instead. I think there’s a few articles about that.

I don’t have real world experience to know if this works, but you can try defining the images you want stored on the hd2500 disk by changing the path in the image definition. Setup a new image definition, set the location to be “hd2500/ImageName” leaving the /images/ prefix. I think FOG should try to store the image in the /images/hd2500/ImageName file or folder, depending on image type.
