Quick registration HTTP 5XX error
-
Hi everyone,
I’m currently on a Ubuntu 18.04 LTS server (DHCP). I installed FOG server 1.5.5 a while back and it was working just fine. All of a sudden, when I boot into the menu and try to do a quick registration (or full as well), I’m getting the below error:
bzimage…HTTP5XX Server Error (http://ipxe.org/1d0c6539)
Could not boot: HTTP 5XX Server Error (http://ipxe.org/1d0c6539)
Could not boot: HTTP 5XX Server Error (http://ipxe.org/1d0c6539)
Chainloading failed, hit ‘s’ for the iPXE shell: reboot in 10 secondsI’ve tried re-constructing the server and re-installing fog from scratch and keep getting the same error. I don’t know what to do…can anyone help??

Can you get to the fog Web UI? The 500 errors is something on the back end has failed (like php-fpm) but apache is still up to give the 500 error.

@george1421 I am able to access the Web UI just fine…and pxe boots just fine into the Fog menu, however, when I try to quick register…I get that error. I’m stumped.

@daguilar so if you key this into your browser replacing the logical fog server IP with your real fog server IP what do you get:
http://<fog_server_ip>/fog/service/ipxe/bzImage
I assume it should try to download that file. What do you see? -
@george1421 I believe I found the issue. There is a policy in place that is blocking it. I really appreciate your help, kudos to you good sir.

@daguilar May I ask you what kind of policy you had in place? Just asking because it might be of help to other users as well…

@Sebastian-Roth Yes of course. The networking team will let me know.
