    Hello All,

    Have an interesting issue regarding the Dell optiplex 7060 desktop. Had no issues with host registration or capturing an image when booting via UEFI. However when I try to deploy the image on an identical machine the menu freezes after login. Image deployment with this model when booting via Legacy has no problems. Please advise. Running 1.5.4 with 4.18.11 x64

    Thanks!

      @funwithimages said in UEFI Deployment issue with Optiplex 7060:

      the menu freezes after login

      What do you mean by that? Windows start menu? I think I have seen posts about frozen menu. Tried forum search yet?

      Don’t think this is a hardware issue…

      Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

        I am talking about the menu you get to after successfully booting from PXE. I select “deploy image”, prompted for fog credentials. Does nothing after login. Just sits there. I posted in this section as this is the only model in my fleet affected by this issue. Yes I did search.

        It works fine via Legacy/bios boot but not from Uefi on this specific model. I had no issues with host registration or capturing an image on this machine. Issue appears to occur JUST when attempting to deploy an image.

        FWIW my Fleet consists of Latitude 5470-90 , Various precisions and optiplexes which do not have this problem.

            @funwithimages Ok, I got this wrong 😉

            So question is where exactly does it hang - philosophical question as you probably can’t see what it is doing at that moment.

            Issue appears to occur JUST when attempting to deploy an image.

            Can you please register the host and then schedule a normal deploy task from the web UI, boot up the client and see if it deploys.

            I posted in this section as this is the only model in my fleet affected by this issue.

            Ok, got that, definitely an interesting issue if that’s true.
