Problems adding storage node
-
Hi, I have a network of computers with 2500 devices and I’ve done FOG Server deployment on a DMZ network to centralize the media, but I’m having a problem when I create a storage node.
I make the whole process of installing the FOG Storage server without any errors, but when I add a node in the FOG Server it keeps locking my main server, where it only normalizes after I stop the Apache service on the storage node.
I would like some help on this problem and a possible solution. -
@tiagoluz What version of FOG? What are you setting for max clients?

I discovered the problem … it was in my firewall, as the FOG Server is in a DMZ network and FOG Storage is in a common machine network I had to make a rule authorizing the FOG storage to communicate with the FOG Server, after that it stopped brake. -

By better describing the use of the FOG where I work, I intend to have a FOG Server for 54 FOG Storage that are spread by different cities where it has machines for a distance of 750 km. This whole network is interconnected through multiple circuits and communicating with each other. -
@tiagoluz If you intend to have 54 storage nodes, you’ll likely need to disable the graphs on them all. The graphs cause problems when there are several storage nodes. This is a setting on each storage node in Storage Management.

@wayne-workman Would you help me?
I set up a storage node and insert it into the FOG Server server until normal, but when I go to the FOG Configuration it informs that the Node (a valid connection to the database could not be established) -
@Tiagoluz we need more information, like the OS your main fog server is using. Concerning that problem, If it’s Ubuntu, odds are you simply need to enable remote access for the
fogstorage
mysql user. Also, this article outlines all of that as well as other troubleshooting.: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Troubleshoot_MySQL#Easy_.26_quick_MySQL_test
