FOG is upoloading the entire disk instead of just used space disk
-
Hello, i need help, i captured an image from an host computer with two partitions from 320GB and 80GB, only 22GB are used on the machine in the 320GB partition . I would like to do the upload
only 22GB, only the used space disk, but every time that i do the uploading from image, the FOG upload 400GB instead off 22GB from used space.my question is “how doing for FOG upload the used space disk instead of entire disk?”
Sorry for my english, i am from another country.
Thanks!

i am using the Multiple Partition Image - All Disks(Not Resizable), but I tried to used other types in other attempts.

@erlon111 First of all what OS is on the target computer?
Second, you want to use (if possible) single disk resizable. This way FOG only copies data and not empty space.
Lastly you didn’t mention the version of FOG you are currently running.

" First of all what OS is on the target computer?"
Windows 7
“Second, you want to use (if possible) single disk resizable. This way FOG only copies data and not empty space.”
I tried, but the machine did not power on, it presented “hard disk error”. I believe it’s because of having more than one partition. It looks like copies the data from the secondary partition instead of primary partition where is operational system files.
“Lastly you didn’t mention the version of FOG you are currently running.”
FOG 1.4.4

@erlon111 Is this a custom disk configuration? Because FOG should copy the entire disk “both partitions” and then expand them properly to the second system.
Are you using 2 like computers for this testing. I.E. you are capturing from a Dell 7050 and then Deploying to a Dell 7050? I want to rule out a missing hardware (disk controller) issue.

Yes, I using two identical computers for test. I captured an Imagem from a Notebook HP ProBook 640b and then Deploying for a Notebook HP ProBook 640b,. Identics Hardwares.

Yes, i created another partition in the machine for save data of users. For this case, i am using the
Multiple Partition Image - All Disks(Not Resizable) but save the entire disk, not just used space disk. After, i tried using the Multiple Partition Image - Single Disk(Not Resible), this case, the primary partition(C: with Windows files) upload the entire disk and the logical partition upload only the used space disk. I did not understand what happened.

@erlon111 To me this sounds like the partitions are bitlocker encrypted. Please read through this thread: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/10824/image-upload-deploy-taking-a-long-time (best to be read from start to end!)
If you are not much into reading and wanna have the gist… take a look at your disk management in Windows. Might look like this:
-
I looked here and the partitions they are not bitlocker encrypted.
-
I try again the Image type Single Disk - Resizable with multiple partitions and presented another error.
“Could not open inode … through the library: Input/Output error(shrinkPartition)”
With only one partition, did not give problem, just with two partitions.

@erlon111 Sounds like fast boot is enabled… always disable fast boot when using cloning software!
