Adding Categories To Inventory

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to increase the categories in which fog takes inventory. For example getting power supply information or Raid controller info?
I would appreciate any comment and information.

Right now with fog 1.x its not possible to add additional inventory items. In FOG 2.0 (vaporware at the moment) better inventory is possible.

FOG 1.x can only query smbios which only describes the hardware (typically only the mobo). SMBIOS doesn’t know about power supplies, raid cards, add on hardware, etc. IF you need a full inventory tool you might look at spiceworks helpdesk and inventory. The spiceworks help desk has a full asset management solution built in. And best of all-free.
