      Server
      • FOG Version: 1.3.5
      • OS: Ubuntu Server 16.04
      Client
      • Service Version: n.a
      • OS: Windows 10 EDU
      Description

So when I try to image some of our HP laptops, it errors out at the end of imaging and gives the error that NTFS is inconsistent and I need to run CHKDSK /F and restart twice. I tried this with a Windows Install USB recovery tools, since fog wipes out windows so I can’t run chkdsk. Even after running chkdsk and restarting twice, the error still occurs. This only seems to be happening to our HP laptops, as our Dell laptops have seemed to image just fined. I have also tried a new HDD and disabling Fast Boot with no luck. Is there any other way to fix this error?

Is this error happening when you capture the image or when deploying the image.

Also I see you are using FOG 1.3.5. I would recommend updating your FOG server to 1.4.4. The path between 1.3.5 and 1.4.4 has addressed single disk resizable issues which may be your problem.

It happens when we deploy the image.

@jveronese If I had to guess, is your HDD’s set to something different than what should be expected? Maybe SSD in place of Spinners? Maybe IDE vs. AHCI vs. RAID? Just trying to get understanding.

Deploying the image should not cause this problem as you’re describing it though, unless the captured image had a problem.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

How do I update fog without having to reinstall and recapture all of my images?

@jveronese Why would you have to recapture all your images? You just download the latest, and run the installer. FOG Automatically “upgrades” if it encounters an already existing system.

I’m confused. FOG wouldn’t capture an inconsistent system in the first place. So how is this error appearing at deployment rather than capture?
