Old fog installation: howto upgrade?

I have a old fog installation, version 4770. on a ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

To update the system i must update to 16.04 or i can continue to use 14.04 LTS?

to update fog i must update from github or i can install from the fog_1.4.2.tar.gz file?

You can stay on 14.04 and use whichever method you’re comfortable with, they’re the same files (excluding latest updates on githubs of course)

github can include some buggly code? is more secure use the fog_1.4.2.tar.gz file?

Github on different branches might. The Tar files are built off the repository.

If you use the dev-branch or master branches from github, it’s identical to how the tar.gz file operates.
