Dell Latitude 5480 PXE boot fail
-
Dell Latitude 5480 PXE boot failed network compatibilty test.
Device will not image from FOG Server.
Kernel has been updated to the latest version as far as I can tell.
Is there anything that can be changed to improve compatibility with my FOG server?
Older Dell Latitude 5450 NIC’s with PXE seem to boot and image fine.
Thanks

What version is your fog server?

Is it PXE boot or network compatibilty test that fails - or both??
Anyhow, FOG 1.2.0 is fairly old! Please upgrade to the latest version and see if the issue still persists.

@MattDowling If your 5480 uses an NVMe drive, then your only option is to upgrade FOG 1.3.0 or later. FOG 1.3.0 supports NVMe drives, as well as GPT format and win10 directly.
For the network interface (only) you could update the FOS kernel to the same one that FOG 1.4.2 uses. You can download the kernel from here: https://fogproject.org/kernels/bzImage32 You will need to rename the file to bzImage since FOS 1.2.0 is 32 bit only. That file goes into /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe. Rename the original file before moving this one into place. (I still think upgrading is a better option).

Thanks Guys, I will give that a try and see what happens.
Will let you know.

@MattDowling Any news on this?

Hi everyone.
We have installed a new fog server on a virtual machine, using the latest 1.4.3 version of FOG.
Everything seems to be working now.
Still building new images to use, but so far everything is working.
Thanks for all the help and quick response times.
