      • OS: Ubuntu
      Client
      • Service Version: Unsure
      • OS: Windows 10
      Description

      I have setup FOG fresh on a VM running Ubuntu. I am able to PXE boot machines, but when I go to register machines, they fail. Below are a couple pictures of what I am getting. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

        Goto:
        FOG Configuration Page->FOG Settings->General Settings->FOG_WEB_ROOT

        Change from WEB_ROOT to /fog/, boom presto success.

        Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

            @x23piracy This is unrelated to ubuntu at all.

                  What didn’t solve what issue?

                  You need to provide information other than, it didn’t work. If the solution from the thread was identical to the issue you were seeing, then did you follow the information exactly? If the information from this was not identical, you likely have a totally separate issue.

                    @Tom-Elliott sorry…changing the web_root to /fog/… i did however figure out that it seems to be an issue with my switch. I used an older “dumb” switch and i was able to successfully register a host.

                      @cjesso So replacing the switch helped fix the problem?

                        @cjesso said in Unable to register machines to FOG:

                        If an older / unmanaged switch solved your issue, then have your network engineers look at your switch configuration. Make sure one of the fast spanning tree protocols are enabled (RSTP, Fast-STP, or what ever your switch mfg calls it). This will allow your switch port to start forwarding data right away instead of waiting for the obligatory 27 second timeout of start spanning tree protocol.
