I changed the ip of my fog server and now nothing works correct. I went through the Wiki and did all the changes that were suggested. I also matched the 2 passwords like it says to do. I can sign on to the web gui of the machine just fine. When I try to upload a new image it says arp failure. I just want to keep my images and re do fog again on the same hard drive. Is it possible to do this without erasing the whole disk? I need to image a computer that I am sending to Florida ASAP. thanks in advance!!!

You’ll need another HDD to copy the images to if you want to do a basic OS re-install. You can easily change the IP of the FOG server without reinstalling if you carefully follow all the instructions in the wiki.

Sorry about the post in this section. I have installed the gui and I am copying the images to another drive right now. I guess when I re install fog fresh I can move the images back to the imagaes folder with no problems.

You can move the images back and forth. You’ll also need to redefine them in the web UI once they are back. It’s not hard if you remember the type and file/folder name.

So do I just search by the folder name to find again?

through the webUI, add new images and select the type, name, and storage location to match what they were. Doing this tells the FOG database about the images, but doesn’t actually touch the contents of /images/ on the FOG server.

You need to make sure the type and location match the files in /images/ though or you’ll have problems.

I suggest in the future you use VirtualBox as a test bed so you can avoid similar issues in the future with your production systems.
