Hey All.

New to fog, running it in Ubuntu. When I attempt to Network boot I am getting "PXE-T04 Missing Mode, and E36 Error Received.

I did a quick google search and didn’t come across anything helpful. Anyone else ever run into this problem?

Tried 2 different PCs, a Desktop and a Laptop, both get the same error.

What version of Fog on which version of Ubuntu?

Is this a standard “(N)ormal” install?

What brand/model of clients are you trying to PXE boot?

Newest version of Fog on Ubuntu 11.10

        Yes, normal install. Nothing fancy.

one of the PCs I am trying to PXE boot is an Asus motherboard, m3n78-VM it has a nvidia chipset.

When you installed Ubuntu, did you update and upgrade before you ran the installfog.sh?

              go ahead and do:
user@servername:~$ sudo apt-get update
followed by:
user@servername:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Then reinstall fog over itself using the same settings you did the first time. Any data you have created should remain intact, but some new packages may get installed or existing packages reconfigured.

I don’t know why you’re getting that tftp error, but something isn’t correct in your tftp setup.

Did it, but still getting the Missing Mode Error.

tftp-hpa 5.1 is running on the server.

I am going to look over the configs again, and compare to Fog documentation, but it was a pretty straight forward install…

I don’t think it’s a something with the fog server. This may be a problem with the PXE boot rom of the motherboard/nic. Try booting using gPXE boot disk/flash drive and see if you get the same error.
