          I updated the client and did a test computer name change. It changed the computer name but did not change it in AD. Any ideas?

              @Tim-Reynolds Are you using the new client, or the old client? I’m still going to side that you’re currently using the old client and the AD Legacy Password is either incorrect with the encryption or there is no value stored right now.

                @Tim-Reynolds For the name to get updated in AD, you must be using the new fog client. The old one never updated AD.

                  @Tom-Elliott The version shows as 0.11.7. I do have a value in the legacy, but it is not encrypted because I get an error when running fogcrypt.

                    @Tom-Elliott I got the Fogcrypt issue figured. I did not get the ETC folder copied before running fogcrypt. I now have an encrypted password in legacy, but I don’t think it is correct because I don’t know how to get the passkey in the ini file.

                      @Tim-Reynolds The ini doesn’t hold the passkey. But there IS no passkey needed for 0.11.7.

                      The AD Password field you just enter the password in plain text. The GUI will encrypt the password for you and store it in its encrypted form.

                        @Tom-Elliott I’ll re-enter it and try again. I was thinking that I should put something in the legacy field because it will take time to get all the clients updated.

                          @Tom-Elliott I verified the password I put into the AD default password field, but still get access denied. Do I need to remove the hostnamechange.dll file from the client?

                            @Tim-Reynolds The beauty of the ad password and ad password legacy fields is they automatically present the client with the correct version it needs.

                            The hostnamechange.dll file? You put the legacy hostnamechange.dll file in the new client folder?

                              @Tom-Elliott I assumed it stayed in the c:\program files\fog folder, but the uninstall must have removed it. I have no hostnamechanger.dll file now. Is that the way it should be?
