Joining imaged computers to Domain from Standalone FOG Install.
-
Hello,
I am running Ubuntu 14.04 with Fog Version 7118 Standalone install. Is there a way to have my FOG installation join imaged computers to the Domain? I have wireless, which is attached to the AD network, and wired, which is connected to a private (standalone) network. Is this feasible or is it just not going to happen with a standalone install of FOG?
Thanks,

It’s feasible - you just have to specify the server IP address that the fog client can communicate with - which would be the fog server’s wireless IP.
However - I’d advise against using an IP, instead you should create a DNS A record for
fog-server
and create it with the FOG server’s wireless IP. Then when installing the client, just use the defaults and everything will jive. -
Would the DNS A record be placed on the FOG Server or on the Domain Controller?

@reub_rester Depends on what is acting as a DNS server.
I doubt your fog server is acting as a DNS server, because if it was you would know about it.
You need to create an A record on whatever is doing DNS for your environment.
